Hey to all my past, present, and future extended family! This is Mike, the traveler extrordinaire, giving a breath of fresh life to my travel blog. The funny thing about writing down my experiences and adventures, I have found, is that the more into them I get, the less desire and inspiration I have to actually write about them for other people. Hey my peeps! Im still alive and thriving down here in the land of la coca and the good life...aka Medellin. Leaving for Bogota tonight (watch out FARC!) to pick up my turntables and mixer I got from a guy out there. Plans keep changing, but somehow they work themselves out for the best. This last weekend was a little loco, some out of town all nighter at a farm hosue rented out with a live DJ and tons of locals...good times...no pictures!! What is wrong with me? It seems like the better time I am having, the more I forget to actually take pics of it...oh well, the best memories are stored in the kernel..ha! Ahhh, so satisfying as dreams come true.... Update! Im still kickin it in Cartagena, workin on the tan, the spanish, and the big "E".... Our amigo Max, who apparently is regressing to his caveman-yeti self, has thus far refused to offer his own updates on this weblog. Thus, I am forced to speak on his behalf, whether he likes it or not. ;-) I received an email this morning informing me of a Yeti sighting at the border of Guatemala and Nicaragua, traveling with another anglo-esque couple. All I have to say is, watch out for the Narco-traficantes, unless of course you want to make a quick million...lol. Max, lets hear from ya, my man! Well folks, I know that I just updated everyone on my comings and goings, yet I almost forgot to include a very important piece of information with regards to our friend Max Kullberg. I received this picture of Max a few days ago, just to let me know that he was alive and thriving (I think) in Guatemala. I decided to rename this photo "GuateMAXa," for obvious reasons. Greetings to my extended family... This update finds me on another leg of my journey. After spending only 24 hours in Medellin, I decided on a whim to accompany some nice British blokes to my other home, Cartagena. To those of you unaware, I spent 3 months living in Cartagena Colombia in 2004, and always knew that I'd return...who knew itd be in a 12 hour long bus ride with me sleeping on the floor, hoping not to be awakened my the bus driver or some military checkpoint guys... Luckily I was tired and had a few beers in me, making sleep that much more attainable. I spoke with the other half owner of this weblog, and he tells me that he is ready to "break his seal" and will start adding his own updates...time will ... read more

Well, The wait is over. After nearly 2 full days of traveling, and 24 hours spent in the Miami airport, (more accurately the Non-denominational chapel-church that I commandeered as my own personal hotel) I MADE IT!!! All I know of Medellin at the present moment is my hostel full of international travelers and the supermarket across the street. I have included photos of the journey (not colombia yet, its night time and Im about to go out) for your viewing pleasure. Well peeps, The ants have officially invaded my pants. According to my travel vouchers, I still have about 2 weeks to "marinate" here in freezing cold Alaska before I being my journey southward. In case anyone is still in the dark, the first stop on my journey will be none other than Medellin, Colombia...thats right, former home of international drug lord, Pablo Escobar. Don't worry, he's long dead ;-) Last I heard from my partner in crime (max), he was chilling out on his parents dime in their little casita in Todos Santos, Mexico...care to offer your readers and fans any updates, Che..er..I mean Max?
