Michael Sherry To family and friends-

This page will be dedicated to the travels and experiences of Max Kullberg and Mike Sherry. These two compadres are lifelong friends who have ventured south of the border in the name of adventure...Latin America awaits..

Max left San Diego on his trusty motorcycle, while Mike makes the trek via plane to Medellin, Colombia.

Details still fuzzy on where in the middle we're gonna meet!

Solo Dios lo sabe!

chao quieridos amigos...

Hey to all my past, present, and future extended family! This is Mike, the traveler extrordinaire, giving a breath of fresh life to my travel blog. The funny thing about writing down my experiences and adventures, I have found, is that the more into them I get, the less desire and inspiration I have to actually write about them for other people. I notice its the same effect on my level of desire to take pictures, as well! Perhaps I get so caught up in the inner journey, that it becomes like a mini-vacation to my outer world...I think. :-) First [View Full Entry]

Hey fellow subscribers/friends/family.. I decided to dump off some pics from my digi cam onto the blog here, I realize that I am now one of the worlds worst bloggers. I say this because I am doing a horrible job of keeping people up to date who both care and worry about me!! That sucks, yo! So, here´s some photo updates of yours truly on the road. Chao, MIKE [View Full Entry]

Yo!

 South America » Colombia
Hey my peeps! Im still alive and thriving down here in the land of la coca and the good life...aka Medellin. Leaving for Bogota tonight (watch out FARC!) to pick up my turntables and mixer I got from a guy out there. Plans keep changing, but somehow they work themselves out for the best. This last weekend was a little loco, some out of town all nighter at a farm hosue rented out with a live DJ and tons of locals...good times...no pictures!! What is wrong with me? It seems like the better time I am having, the more I forget [View Full Entry]

Medellin hostel
Medellin hostel
I think this was taken on my first night in Colombia, Ive decided to omit the photo of the same group a few hours later with, ahem, less coherence.
It is my great pleasure to upload the following, highly-anticipated (I hope!) pictures from my adventure thus far. I won´t waste your time with a bunch of build up, because you all are most likely sick of reading my thoughts, and just want some freakin eye candy by now! So, without further ado (adieu) here they are, in no particular order. Make sure to click the link for the entire journal to get all of the pics. Un beso a todos! Mike [View Full Entry]

Update! Im still kickin it in Cartagena, workin on the tan, the spanish, and the big "E".... Our amigo Max, who apparently is regressing to his caveman-yeti self, has thus far refused to offer his own updates on this weblog. Thus, I am forced to speak on his behalf, whether he likes it or not. ;-) I received an email this morning informing me of a Yeti sighting at the border of Guatemala and Nicaragua, traveling with another anglo-esque couple. All I have to say is, watch out for the Narco-traficantes, unless of course you want to make a quick million...lol. [View Full Entry]

Guatemalan Yeti
Guatemalan Yeti
The Yeti escapes the Matrix in his own beautiful way......
Well folks, I know that I just updated everyone on my comings and goings, yet I almost forgot to include a very important piece of information with regards to our friend Max Kullberg. I received this picture of Max a few days ago, just to let me know that he was alive and thriving (I think) in Guatemala. I decided to rename this photo "GuateMAXa," for obvious reasons. Ahhhh.....Love ah da Yeti. Hate ah da Yeti. Just don't ever try to cage-ah da Yeti. He bites. Un beso a todo el mundo. -Miguel [View Full Entry]

Hot n Sticky...

 South America » Colombia
Greetings to my extended family... This update finds me on another leg of my journey. After spending only 24 hours in Medellin, I decided on a whim to accompany some nice British blokes to my other home, Cartagena. To those of you unaware, I spent 3 months living in Cartagena Colombia in 2004, and always knew that I'd return...who knew itd be in a 12 hour long bus ride with me sleeping on the floor, hoping not to be awakened my the bus driver or some military checkpoint guys... Luckily I was tired and had a few beers in me, making [View Full Entry]

Sweet Arrival

 South America » Colombia
Well, The wait is over. After nearly 2 full days of traveling, and 24 hours spent in the Miami airport, (more accurately the Non-denominational chapel-church that I commandeered as my own personal hotel) I MADE IT!!! All I know of Medellin at the present moment is my hostel full of international travelers and the supermarket across the street. I have included photos of the journey (not colombia yet, its night time and Im about to go out) for your viewing pleasure. I already miss my peeps all over the world (you know who you are) and hope this update finds everyone [View Full Entry]

My next stop, the "city of eternal spring," Medellin. Supposed to be 70-75 F. year round...oh yes...
Sitting here in Alaska, wondering if the adventure that awaits me "down there," could beat the cold hard cash I am making here... Part of me wants to jump, part of me wants the cash for extended travels. WWCD? (What would "Che" do?) An obvious allustion to motorcycle diaries for those who haven't seen it. Sigh...I'm takin the $$ ;-) I guess its a quality problem. No complaints here. Hey, if any of my peeps are out there (traveling the world) drop me a line at mikesherry22@hotmail.com and let me know...I love meeting up with old friends in new and strange [View Full Entry]

Me and Pup!
Me and Pup!
This is me and the family dog "Ceili" on one of our many summer Alaska hikes...God willing, I won't be back in AK until the weather looks like THAT again.
Well peeps, The ants have officially invaded my pants. According to my travel vouchers, I still have about 2 weeks to "marinate" here in freezing cold Alaska before I being my journey southward. In case anyone is still in the dark, the first stop on my journey will be none other than Medellin, Colombia...thats right, former home of international drug lord, Pablo Escobar. Don't worry, he's long dead ;-) Last I heard from my partner in crime (max), he was chilling out on his parents dime in their little casita in Todos Santos, Mexico...care to offer your readers and fans any [View Full Entry]
