Hello friends and family, We are currently sitting on the beach in Equador, after making our way through Northern Peru. However, I must start where I left off........The Bolivian/Peru border. We thought some trouble might arise as we were 10 days over our visa, but thanks to the Custom officers poor math skills and Alanas tears, we were able to cross without issues. We travelled down to Arequipa, Perus second largest city (Sits at the base of Mt Misti, a snow capped volcanoe). After of few days of relaxing by the pool and eating nice foods we were off again. Onto ANOTHER bus and back up into high altitudes. This time to the famous city of Cusco. Insert small history lesson>>>> There are sooooo many churches in Cusco because when the spanish destroyed an Inca 'temple' ... read more

Part 2 The group changed directions in Sucre with Paul and Alana going off into the jungle to work with animals and Ian and Frankie staying in Sucre for more Spanish lessons. Ian and Francis both did home stays, Ians Spanish teacher was more than happy with their 1 on 1 lessons!!! After a week Ian caught the bus to the party town of La Paz where later we were to find out that he had gained some sort of 'god' status. Frankie was not too far behind Ian, although she did do a stop over in the jungle to visit us. Alana and Paul... We left sucre and caught a bus driven by a Bolivian maniac to Cochabamba with our new English friends, Lissa and Bo. We spent two days looking at the markets before ... read more

Bloody Bolivia PART 1, Hey friends and family, Where to start? Crossed the border into Bolivia without hassels and made it to the wild wild west town of Tupiza. This is where Buch Cassidy aqnd the Sun Dance Kid where finally killed. Of course we had to do some old fashioned horse riding, so we put on our best cowboy clothes and set out on a ride through the canyon. Cut a long story short, a flash flood come down the canyon and strait into us. Horses and people were screaming and Ian (lying half on his horse, with a horrified look on his face) flew off down the valley as his spooked horse went crazy. (sooooo funny) We found Ian walking horseless, covered in blood and mud!!! Sooooooooooooo funny. From tupiza we booked a 4 ... read more

Dear family and friends, Iguazu Falls was amazing. After visiting the Brazilian side of the falls, we made it across the border and into Argentina. This involved long waits on the side of the road, however we were in no rush. We stayed in Porto Iguazu for a few days and the highlights included; eating great steak, eating cheap ice creams and chilling out with our good friends Mike, Tamsin, Ross, Donna and Bobby. On one of these days paul was savagely attacked by a vicious pack, of what could have been mistaken as wolves, but were actually chuawas. He was then bitten on the face by bed bugs...poor guy!!! The next day our crew decided to go into Paraguy and buy cheap electronics. The bus didnt stop at the border, so we had to walk ... read more

After leaving Rio we joined forces with Mike and Tamsin (a lovely english couple), and made our way over to the Island paradise of Ilha Grande. It is a rather large island with no roads and no cars. The main activities are hiking, boat tours and beaches. After jumping off our unreliable boat, alana and paul walked down the beach and up some hills to their lovely hostel. We bluffed our way into an all you can eat buffet and had three plates between the six of us (and various street cats and dogs). Our dinner on the headland turned into a night club and after a couple of drinks we got our shake on. The next day we took an hour long boat ride through some magic scenery (as the photos will show). A 30 ... read more

Hello friends and family, Just a short blog here. After a week of dancing and living it up at carnival we were in need of some well deserved rest so we move closer towards the centre of Salvador to a backpackers near the beach. A couple of days on the beach and some sleep-ins gave us the energy we needed to fly down to Rio. Rio is an amazing city. The contrasts between humans and the environment were one of our first thoughts. Here is a city that has massive slums right next door to 5 star hotels, beautiful beaches backing onto jungle covered mountains, backpackers with homeless and the rich and famous. We made our way to ipanema beach and to our hostel where we met up with some of frans friends. We spent four ... read more

From Rome we fly back towards france, changed plane and flew over Iceland, Canada and into the States. Alana, POaul, Jackie and Ian met back up at a hostel/motel in inglewood...near compton (gansta area!!!). Dear friends and family, (see photos) After our last blog it decided to snow and snow and snow. Around 1 meter of snow fell in two days and our final ours in the alps where a winter wonderland of snow, snowballs, snow men and my favourite activity, tree kicking. We left our german alp town and headed for munich, where we saw the many sights. We walked through the old square where hitler started his public speaking in the early years. The sign of riot police made us wonder if there was a bomb scared but later in the day our wandering brought us right into the middle of a nazi protest and an equally angry anti-nazi protest. There were hundreds of riot police and police cars....the pro nazis were protesting some crap and walking down ... read more
