My first long haul on the Greyhound what a distance.........it took nineteen and half hours travel time and a completley shattered Kat, I crashed out at the earliest opportunity. The tan is coming along well not that my pictures seems to show or maybe I am just kidding myself, no sunburn as yet (touchwood....picture me touching my head) Cable Beach is lovely but only a small area can be swam in de to rifts, sharks oh and I forgot to mention Jellyfish. Broome has it's own pace and that is very slow nearly to a stop, so as the saying in WA you wait awhile it is so true. Broome is a tourist town and lives off tourism. On tuesday I went Kyaking at Gantheaume Point I saw Anastasia Pool legend has it that a gentleman ... read more

Katherine is a one street kinda town and I am not kidding the street is called the Terrace and the streets off it are 1st, 2nd & 3rd, 4th Street how cool is that. Katherine Gorge has 13 gorges in total but not all are accessable, the pictures show the 1-3rd. The gorges only tend to have freshwater croc's in them but during the wet season some salties do get trapped, so swimming was not recommended at this time as the final check needs to be done to get the all clear. Local humor has a salty trap located on the otherside of the swimming area. John McDowell Stuart was the first Europen Explorer and to get funding for his trip he approached Mr Chambers a well off man in the town and said he would ... read more

Darwin in one word WOW..............its breathtaking I am hoping my pictures portray the beauty. Today I went on a Jumping Crocodile Cruise...I am sure you are asking yourself why would anyone teach a WILD crocodile to jump. The picture of the dingy is what most people go up and down on the river and if we are teaching crocodiles to jump surely they will then jump into the boats...... easy food. All the crocodiles are Salt water and will eat you. I would like to introduce Boris he is just over 6ft and about 60 years old (the is only appoximate as to find out the age of a crocidle you need to cut his leg off...a bit like a tree) Boris is missing his leg due to a run in with Agro, Agro is the ... read more

One for all and all for one........ I had been e-mailing Monti since I left Lancelin, working out the plans for the trip down South for the Labour Day weekend. (A bank holiday) Just so you don't think I have swallowed an atlas, the bit that follows is to give you an idea on the distances within WA. The plan was to go to “Waves Rock” which is in Hyden about 4hrs (345km) SE of Perth and “The tree top walk” is in Walpole, SW of Hyden. In total that would be 680.50km. I met up with Monti and we had an extra person, Uli a German guy on vacation for 3 weeks that Monti meet whilst in Exmouth on her tour up North. The more the merrier I say! We set off early Sunday morning ... read more

The two main issues that are topic for discussion are Sorry Day and Daylight Saving Sorry Day Sorry Day is the government apologising to the aboriginal people for the way past governments have treated them between 1995 and 1997 an enquiry was held into the removal of Aboriginal children from their families, the "Stolen Generations". The final report, "Bringing Them Home - Report of the National Inquiry into the Separation of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Children from Their Families" was released in 1997. One year after the release of the final report, a National Sorry Day was instituted, to acknowledge the wrong that had been done to indigenous families and so that the healing process could begin. Sorry Day is also in remembrance of mistreatment of the Aboriginal people and not only to the children ... read more
