Hello all, Well we are on to week 2 of our travels. We headed to the mainland after a sore goodbye to island life. It was hard to leave Utila but Copan Runias is living up to it and then some. We made friends with a lovely couple from Switzerland and travelled with them from the Island to where we are now. Copan Ruinas - I don´t even know where to start... The people here are amazing! They are friendly, welcoming and totally forgiving when Blair and I attempt to speak Spanish-which is awful- we have already vowed to take classes before entering a spanish speaking country. Trust me - it makes life waaaay easier. We arrived at the perfect time too - we caught the last few days of a week long celebrationfestival complete with ... read more

So Blair and I decide to visit the Key Islands. They are a group of islands a short boat ride away from Utila. They have have amazing snorkeling - just what we are looking for! So we book a trip through our hotel. The boat picks up at 830 the following morning. Its a neat little rustic boat with a local fisherman driver. We hop in. Riding along, enjoying the sites when we hear the fisherman excitedly say "Fish!". He proceeds to pull the fishing line in, reel a big fish in and pull it off the hook. Then he asks us to move aside so he can throw it in the front of the boat full of rope and other fisherman paraphernalia. This fish is bleeding from the mouth and flopping around for dear life ... read more

Enjoy the photos! Yesterday Blair and I did our first dives!!!! At the end of the day today he will be a certified diver! Huzzah for Blair! I did a refresher course and did my first 2 dives yesterday.. No whale sharks sighted yet but we are heading over to the whale shark research center this morning so see about a boat tour. The water was warm and the coral is beautiful. Lots of big fish - including a barracuda...a little scary but oh so awesome. Well, BYE Blavril... read more

Greeting from Utila Honduras!!! We are having an amazing time so far. 4 planes later and a sleep at the San Antonio airport and we rolled into San Pedro Sula. We caught a really sweet VIP bus to La Ceiba where we stayed with Omega Tours in a really amazing mini cabin over a creek. We hooked up with a couple from Boston and took a cab to the ferry. The ferry ride... wow. Rolling waves - a total roller coaster. It was kind of fun until all the kids that were sitting up at the front started barfing! Once the smell hit everyone's noses it turned into a puke party. I barely made it off the ferry, clutching a plasitic bag in case I got sick. It was quite the ride. We made it same ... read more

Well my fellow bog readers. I have been so freaking slack. Ive been home a month and I havent done "My final words about ASIA" article. Damn i can't believe Im home already. Ummm Thailand was really cool. I think my favorite country was Laos. I would go back there in 2 seconds flat. I miss Australia the most. I already want to go back and I have only been here a MONTH! I think next on my list of adventures will be a 3 point, 3 country dive journey. Thats when I come back from Wales/England. Sigh! Going backpacking doesnt hold off the travel bug. It feeds it so that it grows into this hungry monsterous giant to which I must obey! ... read more

What do we do when we are sick of rice? Eat the next best thing. Well, maybe not the NEXT best thing, but you know. Sometimes it has to be done :) We decided that our last night in Pattaya had to be spent doing something we will never forget. I must say that we have accomplished this goal. I know I will never forget the fact that I ate 5 different bugs in Thailand. Mmmmm mmmmm! Aside from that what have we been up to? We picked up Warren from the Bankok airport and headed down south for the Full Moon Party. The party was insane! Heaps of bars along the beach. All of them playing awesome music. The hardest decision of the night was what to dance to. Our little bungalow wasn't anything to ... read more

Yep. Some definate kibbles and bits going on strong... This place is freaking weird. I like it like that though....Lets see....where did I leave off...Adam, Ten and I stayed in Bangkok for a few more days. We chilled out on Ko San Road. Well, not really chilled out. Its like a constant Farang parade day and night. Farang means foreigner. I want to get an "I love Farang" t-shirt made before I leave. That would be awesome. I see the bumper stickers everywhere. So we went to some bars...blah blah blah...the usual drinking scene. Tenneal has some friends (Rob and Anthea) that are living in Pattaya working as dive instructors. They came to Bangkok to hang out with us and BAM! Wouldn't you know it, we decided to get our advanced scuba diving with them. The ... read more

Well we are at the last stop of the Biggin adventure - Thailand! If I get any more mosquito bites I am going to jump off a giant budda. I've never felt itch like this before. Good lord.... Ok so where was I....after our mighty tree hugging adventures we headed across the river to Thailand. As soon as we crossed the border we caught a 2 hour bus to Chang Rai. Chang Rai is a super neat city. They have a really awesome night market, lots of super neat shops, groovy pubs and friendly people....What more could we ask for? We did a day trip to the golden triangle, saw the opium museum, and even went to Myanmar for one hour, to shop and get our passports stamped. After hanging out in Chang Rai for a ... read more

Well the end of our laos adventure was one of the coolest things I have ever done. Tenneal and I joined forces with Adam from South Africa for our last Laos adventure. We heard about a experience like no other - The Gibbon experience. This is 3 days of living in treehouses that are all attached through ziplines. So we needed money for the trip and it just so happened that the whole town (Huay Xai) didn't have international banking for foreigners. So, to get cash, one of us had to take a 3 min boat ride to thailand, get stamped and take out money, return to lao and re-enter. What a pain. It was kind of neat to see Thailand right across the river:) So we drove through the wilderness for about 2ish hours to ... read more
