Well my fellow bog readers. I have been so freaking slack. Ive been home a month and I havent done "My final words about ASIA" article. Damn i can't believe Im home already. Ummm Thailand was really cool. I think my favorite country was Laos. I would go back there in 2 seconds flat. I miss Australia the most. I already want to go back and I have only been here a MONTH! I think next on my list of adventures will be a 3 point, 3 country dive journey. Thats when I come back from Wales/England. Sigh! Going backpacking doesnt [View Full Entry]

What do we do when we are sick of rice? Eat the next best thing. Well, maybe not the NEXT best thing, but you know. Sometimes it has to be done :) We decided that our last night in Pattaya had to be spent doing something we will never forget. I must say that we have accomplished this goal. I know I will never forget the fact that I ate 5 different bugs in Thailand. Mmmmm mmmmm! Aside from that what have we been up to? We picked up Warren from the Bankok airport and headed down south for the Full [View Full Entry]

Mmmmm

Yep. Some definate kibbles and bits going on strong... This place is freaking weird. I like it like that though....Lets see....where did I leave off...Adam, Ten and I stayed in Bangkok for a few more days. We chilled out on Ko San Road. Well, not really chilled out. Its like a constant Farang parade day and night. Farang means foreigner. I want to get an "I love Farang" t-shirt made before I leave. That would be awesome. I see the bumper stickers everywhere. So we went to some bars...blah blah blah...the usual drinking scene. Tenneal has some friends (Rob and Anthea) [View Full Entry]

Well we are at the last stop of the Biggin adventure - Thailand! If I get any more mosquito bites I am going to jump off a giant budda. I've never felt itch like this before. Good lord.... Ok so where was I....after our mighty tree hugging adventures we headed across the river to Thailand. As soon as we crossed the border we caught a 2 hour bus to Chang Rai. Chang Rai is a super neat city. They have a really awesome night market, lots of super neat shops, groovy pubs and friendly people....What more could we ask for? We [View Full Entry]

Well the end of our laos adventure was one of the coolest things I have ever done. Tenneal and I joined forces with Adam from South Africa for our last Laos adventure. We heard about a experience like no other - The Gibbon experience. This is 3 days of living in treehouses that are all attached through ziplines. So we needed money for the trip and it just so happened that the whole town (Huay Xai) didn't have international banking for foreigners. So, to get cash, one of us had to take a 3 min boat ride to thailand, get stamped [View Full Entry]

We have been having an absolutely smashing time! Laos is for sure, hands down, no doubt about it, my favorite Asian country so far. After staying in Vientiane for a few days we decided we would trek around Northern Laos. We caught a 4 hour bus ride to Vang Vieng. This little town was SMASHING. It was so laid back, beautiful and full of activities. We ended up hooking up with 2 Aussies in Vientiane and they were having so much fun with the Biggin posse they decided to come with us, despite already being there a few weeks earlier. We [View Full Entry]

Here are the long awaited (I think) photos of our last few days in Vietnam and our first few in Laos! I am in LOVE with Laos. It is so laid back, its not swarming with people and it is beautiful! We have been in Vientiane for 2 days. Its been great. We have rented sweet petal bikes complete with the basket on the front, we have had experienced a herbal sauna/message, and we have drank Lao beer sitting along the river. We leave tomorrow to head up north for some river/innertube action. Its similar to tubing the Slocan River in [View Full Entry]

Sniff, sniff... The end to Vietnam is here and a new adventures in Laos are about to begin. Backpacking is so weird. As soon as you get used to being swarmed by mobs of people trying to sell you things you'll NEVER use, being honked at continueously throughout the day, and just plain old walking in the insane traffic...its time to go. Vietnam is crazy, its overwhelming at times, but having strange random things happen to us only adds spice to the mix, and honestly, the stories are what make the experience:) So where did I leave off....In Hoi An I [View Full Entry]

Usually one stick of incense is good for me, but I guess there are a lot of people to bless here so there are always piles of incense burning at one time... We are in Hanoi after spending over a week in Hoi An and Hue. After an interesting 13 hour (uuuuh) bus ride we arived in Hanoi this morning. I think we are all suffering from a little culture shock (I know I am) so to get rid of some built up tension we are going to a Thai boxing match tonight. The bus ride up was interesting. After being [View Full Entry]

Nha Trang has a lot to offer these adventure junkies. Yesterday we went mud slinging at the mineral Spa. We sat in these tiny tubs and they pumped warm mud into it. We then sat in grimy muck - oh wait exfoliating mineral mud - for 20 minutes and then went through a series of mineral baths. It was really neat and a lot of fun. Im not sure if I would do it again but it was for sure a different experience! Today we went on a boat tour to 4 islands. It was for sure the highlight of Na [View Full Entry]
