So long time no update :) Well headed up to the Abel Tasman ) warmest place in New Zealand on the coach and spent a night in Nelson and then up to the park where i stayed on Old McDonalds farm. I arrived and it was absolutely lashing down and i was staying in this manky hut sharing the room with a hypochondriac who popped pills for every reason, migraines, anti inflammatorys, sleeping pills- i actually thought i'd end up waking up in the morning with her dead and me being arrested for her death with the amount of pills she was popping. Anyway put it this way when it is raining there, there is nothing to do and i mean nothing so i literally read my book for about 12 hrs solidly. By 8pm i ... read more

Well on leaving Queenstown we drove all the way down to Milford Sound- wettest place on the planet and got a cruise out of the sound into the open water and back- we all got bitten to buggery by the dreaded sandflies- they seem to be everywhere. I know i keep banging on about this but it's such a beautiful country and we passed so many mountains that were used in the Lord of the Rings (not that i've actually seen the film), We were driving to Tutapare (the sausage capital- don't ask) and there was this old man that got on the bus and asked if we wanted to get on his jet boat and he would take us to the accomodation. Well i thought i'd support the locals so jumped on this boat and ... read more

Ok so left Christchurch and jumped on the Trans Alpine train across from Christchurch to Greymouth and it was such a stunning journey. It would be great to see the contrast of the mountains in winter aswell- maybe the next trip!!. It took about 4 hours but was well worth it. We finally arrived in Greymouth to glorious sunshine. Most people then get on a coach down to Franz Josef Glacier but our trip said that we should go to Barrytown. I checked with the driver that we were getting on the correct bus and asked him whether he would drop us off in the town centre and he just laughed.... now i know why. When he stopped outside this tavern he joked about the fact that we had to get off quickly before the place ... read more

Well we got up at 6am to jump on the ferry to Picton. A truck turned up first to put everyones luggage in and then a coach came to pick us up... couldn't believe it when the truck drove off with the back door open... again... thank god our bags were at the front otherwise i think we may have seen the whole Sydney bag dropping scenario again! The ferry was one of the most beautiful ferry journeys i've been on and not choppy at all- we spent the last hour travelling through the sounds (beautiful inlets with clear blue sea and the odd seal popping up to see us). When we arrived in Picton we jumped on a coach to Blenheim and stayed in someones house that they had converted into a hostel. There was ... read more

Hey all So from the sunshine state we drove up the coast to Ohupe... (basically very much like Worthig with nice weather). We decided to treat ourselves and go out for dinner. The first restaurant we turned up at decided at 8pm that they didn't want to stay open and so turned us away. We then drove into the town with all of about 4 people in it to another restaurant where we were greeted with the phrase .... the chef has gone home for the night...!!!! We ended up in a bar eating batter with our fish! NIce!! Anyway at least the weather was nice. We arrived back at camp and decided to sit around .... this car drove by slowly and lobbed a bloody water bomb out of the car window at me.... nice.... ... read more

Well what have we been up to in the last few days i hear you ask....Well kelly and i are still living, breathing and sleeping in this frigging van. I woke up with her hair in my mouth the other morning and every night we go to bed we open the sun roof of the van and gaze at the stars together- how romantic. So we have now driven up to the tip - Cape Reinga and seen the Tasman and Pacific oceans meet which was special and then drove down the motoraway and pulled off to surf the sand dunes and some sandunes these were. We all felt as though we'd stepped into the desert. James hired a board and surfed down them. Also visited ninety mile beach which is actually 56 miles long (no ... read more

Ok so we picked up the Space Shuttle from Auckland and it is bright Orange with nice white flashes with Space Shuttle written across it- Stellios from Easyjet would be proud. We were thinking of leaving it in a car park and taking an aerial photo and doing a 'Where's The Space Shuttle' book! along the same lines as 'Where's Wally' Oh and we feel the necessity to flash (with lights) everyone we see in the same van which has been about 2 so far! Ok so this bus is to be our home for 2 weeks!!!! We drove up from Auckland to Whangarei via Goat Island and along the East Coast- what a beautiful country. They say it is like England hundreds of years ago and i can see why. It is so green and ... read more

So guys Not sure when i'm going to be around for the next one as heading up North today so thought i would do a little update for you all today. Well as simple as it would be to say everything went smoothly from Sydney to New Zealand would be missing out a little chunk which would be silly. So i think the last time we spoke was when we were leaving the hostel in Sydney. So standing outside waiting for the airport bus with another English girl. Bus arrived about 40 mins late, so as you can imagine we were running a little late. So anyway it eventually arrived and this Aussie jumped out and asked us if we were the British babes and then smiled to display all of about 2 teeth- one on ... read more

Gees look at me go.. 2 blogs is 2 days. Not sure when i am going to get to the next PC and leaving Oz today so thought i'd update you. Yesterday after having a good old whinge about the rain and Kel and i taking the piss out of all the people in shorts we walked into town to shop- yep that would be pair of shoes number 2! Anyway moving on swiftly .. we took a leisurely walk through the botanical gardens and up to the Opera House where we sat outside for 2 hours watching the Australian Open Tennis on the big screen. Was quite warm but the sun wasn't out.... can you see where this is going..... After about 2 hours we headed to Circular Quay and the Rocks for a wander ... read more

Hi Guys No i haven't been slack before you all start whinging it's just that i have had limited access to the Internet. :) Well took off from LHR and in true Charlotte style the chinese woman sitting next to me started to pray as the engines were turned on- as you can imagine i was feeling great as i only had a 12 hour flight infront of me. Well thank god her praying worked because i arrived safley. Ended up walking around the airport for about an hour to try and work out how the hell to get to our hotel and boy what a nice hotel it was and straight to bed at 4pm in the afternoon. Ended up going to that restaurant that you recommended Carrie (thanks hun) although I am sure you ... read more
