Tim: Today we are relaxing, well thats only because we are recovering. We went out last night to a pub with Phil and a load of his mates including his good lady wife. Tom knows Phil from back in Manchester. We had a really good night and we met alot of the locals which included some nice local girls, telephone numbers were exchanged... Today we have been out for food, coffee and some fresh air in order to try and make ourselves feel human again. We leave for Montreal tommorow afternoon and have a fair old journey up in the train [View Full Entry]

Tim: We woke up at the crack of dawn, so Dawn had to leave and we left shortly afterwards at 7am. As the title suggests we went to Niagara Falls today. We managed to pick up the trip for $60ca so around 30 quid. The tour also included a tour of Niagara Village and also a trip to a vineyard. The highlight of the day was obviously the great falls. For your delectation and ridicule we have included some pictures of us in stupid smurf smocks that we designed to keep us dry.....! I will also include one of me with [View Full Entry]

Tim: We have just arrived in Toronto. The flight up here was short but quite choppy due to the wind. The guy at customs gave us 101 questions but he was cool and stamped the passport so that is two stamps on it now :) You know I hate it when I go to EU countries and dont get stamps! We both had a bit of a panic earlier today when niether of us could get cash from the cash points. I have now managed to get 500 CA Dollars but Tom's card has been blocked so he needs to phone [View Full Entry]

Tim: As the title suggests it was one of those random go with the flow and see where you end up days which turned out to be a "great success" as Borat would say. Woke up (good start) and went out around 11:30am. Maybe we were a bit lazy in getting up but hey we had a long day before doing the get from A to B thing. Went to the centre of town and saw a few of the sights in the middle of Toronto, the main sight being the CN tower which claims to be the tallest building in [View Full Entry]

Tom: Our plan for Saturday was to watch the Man U vs Chelsea game at bar on 8th Ave, however somewhere along the way we got local and gmt mixed up, so we arrived in Manhattan for 12 noon only to find the match had started @12 noon gmt, 5 hours previous. Even worse was to come when we discovered that the Blue scum had won and that the title race was going to go to the wire. So with our plans well and truly scuppered we just mooched round Central Park and finished up with a few beers in Manhattan [View Full Entry]

The first GOAAAAALL!
The vocal SJE fans

Tom: Bit of a nothing day, NYC was covered in mild rain which meant that the low mist shrouded the tallest scrapers, so after a long walk through Manhattan we hit Chinatown for a spot of lunch and i'll tell you it was well worth the soaking. We planned an evening at the hostel, doing washing and all that RL crap when we popped into a deli near the hostel which wasn't our "usual" one. What a good find it turned out to be, 24 fluid oz cans of Bud (about 1.5 pints) for $1.50 (about 75p), oh happy days! In [View Full Entry]

Tim: Today we decided that we would get some culture. So we headed to the American Museum of Natural History. We really did not know what to expect and found the place to be so vast that we could not possibly have got around it in the time we had. (Before we left England, Tom and I went to get some traveling bags and whilst doing so also bought some footwear. I took ages to decided and in the end opted for some nice cool Teva shoes with air vents in etc for walking hot cities in the summer. Tom choose [View Full Entry]

Tom: Morning began in starbucks to fuel us up, followed by a quick sidetrip back to the ESB to buy me some less chunky footwear, then with new shoes on a nice walk up to Times Square to see the displays. Then onto Central Park to chillax and unwind. Perhaps the most perfect day to walk round CP, sun shining with a gentle breeze to take the edge of things so we treated ourselves to a healthy deli lunch with a not so healthy beer to wash it down with. Some slobbing round in the sunshine as we explored the lower [View Full Entry]

Tim in Times Sq.

Tim: It has been a glorious day today, the sun was shinning from really early on and we both headed out in a t-shirt and shorts with hats and glasses. Lots of suncream applied today to keep the ginger skin from burning to a sinder. Tom took a photo yesterday to show me the sunburn after one day and I had a big red line around the neckline, arms had caught some too but not too bad. Lots of cream applied today and the mild soreness has died away, just topped up the tan today. Part of the budget plans involved [View Full Entry]

Lots of NYC Taxi
NYC Coast Guard

Tim: What a glorious day today has been. Started off with the intention of going to statue of libery and GZ. Ended up in Wall Street then onto the sea front by Brooklyn Bridge and Manhatten Bridge which was cool. We then made our way up Manhatten East until 23rd street where we took a left onto 23rd street. Made our way to Union Square where I attaracted the attention of some weirdo! No change there then. We mooched around Manhattan and get some lunch in Subway where amazingly Tom had never eaten before! :) We took a walk up the [View Full Entry]
