Hi, I've published a few journals that I wrote while studying at Cardiff University in the United Kingdom. My stay in the UK was a fulfilling and rewarding experience. I had a chance to visit other parts of Europe and met many wonderful people from all over the world! I'm now based in Johannesburg, South Africa.

I like to associate with people that have positive energy. Like traveling, researching & teaching. I love listening to smooth jazz and spend a lot of my spare time on computers. Watching sport also takes up a lot of my spare time. I enjoy reading, especially books and journals on self improvement and personal success. They keep me inspired, motivated and rejuvenated..

Hope you enjoy reading my travel journals. Thanks for visiting..

After long celebrations in Cardiff, I set off for Oxford and Cambridge to visit my friends. I remember it was a long and exhaustibve trip by bus but the landscape of England entertained me somewhat.. Oxford city has a very long history and the Oxford University has produced many world renowned icons in both academia and politics. It was a thrilling experience to walk thru the building that were built centuries ago. They are still attractive and stunningly beautiful! Cambridge on the other hand, is a very warm and inviting city full of life! The presence of so many students makes it a lively place to visit. The scenery, botanic gardens and the parks are the main centre of attraction. I certainly had a wonderful holiday after visiting Wales again and the whole tour was both ... read more

What a wonderful experience this was!! I had been looking forward to this day for months.. At first it seemed so distant - and I thought I was going to change my mind about attending the ceremony. As the date got closer, my heart started beating faster and I wanted to be there! It was so satisfying and fulfilling to meet my former classmates and friends back in Cardiff for our graduation ceremony. We relived and reminisced about our old times in South Wales. We partied throughout the week and made sure we celebrated in style! It was sad though when we had to part again - and this was very emotional for all of us. Seeing Cardiff and the surroundings on the last day was not a plesasant experience at all. Nevertheless, I will certainly ... read more

This will definitely be a night to remember! The following day was going to be our friend, Alex's birthday. So, she and a few other friends decided to celebrate this in a different, or rather unusual fashion. We went out clubbing (yeah me clubbing...) and also managed to visit the newly opened club in the city centre - which was rocking! The music was great, exotic interior and a very attractive environment! Later we moved to Club Philarmonic downtown. There are two dance floors in this club, and I just love the music in the basement. We hung out there until early hours of Sat morning.. What a wonderful party it was! ... read more

PARTY TIME!!! How's it like to celebrate your birthday many miles away from home for the FIRST time in more than thirty years? Very interesting indeed! This time my celebrations were different in many ways.. The environment, my new friends, type of food, my wonderful classmates and the fact that the party was at my tiny little flat (what a torture that was...). But it's interesting to see what people can do in such a small space when excited! Really amazing!! Some of us are like oranges. We produce only when squeezed!! I want to thank all my friends, colleagues and classmates for the wonderful BIRTHDAY wishes! They were absolutely AWESOME! The party they gave me was pretty much unexpected - and I was overwhelmed by their warmth and kindness. The mood was certainly electrifying!! . ... read more

Writing exams can be such a stressful and 'mood-modifying' experience! As expected, after finishing our last exams (Phew!), friends and I decided to have a day out in Swansea (about 50 min by train - very fast train, by the way!) This, I was told, is supposed to be a place for relaxation, fresh air, less traffic, nice people, rejuvenation, exotic landscapes and reflection. Needless to say, it became our first choice to unwind and reflect upon a very long and energy-draining academic year... Usually at this time of the year here, the weather should be pretty warm (X fingers) - so we had planned a couple of activities there, but instead it decided to be cloudy and overcast! Clearly, it wasn't gonna be a pleasant outing for us. However, we decided to go... We missed ... read more

I had never imagined that my Easter holidays would be as eventful, joyous and rewarding as this year's. Reason, I'm so used to spending this period with family going to church - and therefore thought I would be very bored since in the UK I haven't had time to really get to know the Christian community where I live. Nonetheless, I took off to Southampton, a lovely and quiet city just outside Winchester, south of England. The weather was attractively stunning when I arrived and I was reminded of Durban. The scenery, the lakes, the gardens and the waterfront all caught my attention as I landed - it was like I had set foot on a different part of Europe! The landscape in the outskirts of the city was irresistibly beautiful!! My friends, Derrick, Tebogo and ... read more

Unilever and Deloitte invited all the Nelson Mandela Scholars currently studying in the UK for the spring tour in their offices in London. Part of this initiative was also to meet senior staff members of these two companies, including Unilever CEO, as our main sponsors. They treated us to nice dinner and we visited house of parliament and Downing Street No. 10. We really had a lot of fun.. Thanx to the beautiful weather..... read more

The Cardiff Business School invited all MSc and PhD students to the Post Graduate Dinner on the 15th February 2007. What a splendid and fabulous event! It was good to see classmates, lecturers and university Professors dressed up. Although the guest speaker's speech was somewhat boring and irrelevant, we got an opportunity to laugh (and him to laugh at himself) - which, I think was a lot of fun. We also managed to mingle, socialise and interact with lecturers and classmates at a social level. Certainly, that made us get to know one another better. I thoroughly enjoyed the food and exquisitely prepared tables were a centre of attraction!!... read more

My friends and I decided to go out in the freezing weather to celebrate a New Year's Eve in style. We first had a house party at Yonella's apartment in central Edinburgh with a few friends from South Africa and London. Although we soon learned that the Edinburgh Hogmanay Concert had been canceled due to adverse weather, we still went out to the streets in numbers. The atmosphere was electrifying and people were genuinely kind and loaded with fun. We met very fine individuals while out there and made many friends. I and Steven however decided to leave the other group at a club a few minutes before mid-night. That's when the REAL fun began!!! We mingled and celebrated with so many people and the mood was overwhelmingly joyous! We met a group of Brazilians and ... read more

Visiting Scotland has always been my dream. I somehow wanted to experience the extreme weather up there as well as the festive atmosphere for which Edinburgh is affectionately known. I was hanging out with my friends and colleagues from South Africa. Also met other friends from SA who live and work in London. What a moving experience. Although the Hogamany Street Bash was canceled on the New Year's Eve, the vibe still continued. In the rain; in the streets celebrating wildly!!! Very great experience. We also visited cool clubs in Edinburgh and exotic Italian restaurants! Met nice people from Chacago (USA), the twins Neelam & Amrita, Caroline, Megan and their friends. What a great company they were!... read more
