Writing exams can be such a stressful and 'mood-modifying' experience! As expected, after finishing our last exams (Phew!), friends and I decided to have a day out in Swansea (about 50 min by train - very fast train, by the way!) This, I was told, is supposed to be a place for relaxation, fresh air, less traffic, nice people, rejuvenation, exotic landscapes and reflection. Needless to say, it became our first choice to unwind and reflect upon a very long and energy-draining academic year...
Usually at this time of the year here, the weather should be pretty warm (X fingers) - so we had planned a couple of activities there, but instead it decided to be cloudy and overcast! Clearly, it wasn't gonna be a pleasant outing for us. However, we decided to go... We missed the first train - and we really began to accept that we were gonna have a bad day! Anyhow, we went there before midday and, surprisingly, the sun was out in Swansea (Yee Pee!). That made me really feel much better, you know. Typical African loves the sun....
The place is attractively mountainous with stunning landscapes overlooking the quiet ocean! Lovely buildings wrap
the western coast line all the way to the edge of the city - which engulfs the beautiful waterfront! Really a superb and conducive place for relaxation & reflection! Wouldn't mind taking a 'proper' holiday there...
The SQUARE!I just fell in love wt the gardens around this area, but for some reason, people stare!
The Fountains! Here, I saw people attempting to drink from the ponds! Gross!!!
