Canon Collins Educational Trust invited all Nelson Mandela Scholars to the Xmas Function at Trafalgar Square in London. It was packed. We managed to mingle and rub shoulders with administrators of our scholarship as well as trustees for Canon Collins Trust. What a worthwhile experience. Also met other scholars from other southern African countries, e.g Zimbabwe, Zambia, Swaziland and Botswana.. It was good to speak in our native language and eat South African food! This was our class Xmas dinner at a very nice restaurant at Cardiff Bay called Porta Tunisia. We had hoped all MSc students would attend but many actually managed to come out yet it was extremely cold particularly on that night. Nonetheless, we had a great time and got the opportunity to mingle, socialize and make new friends within the group! A very worthwhile experience. Hay-on-Wye is on the outskirts of Wales and is affectionately known as a heritage of books. I love reading so I felt like taking a trip there with other Graduate students. The trip was lots of fun although it was extremely cold. I and a few of my colleague managed to get a few books there. Interestingly, I have started reading them. [View Full Entry]

Sometimes you have to get away from the busy university life. I decided to go to Bath, just south of wales. I enjoyed the scenery and the old town there. People are so nice and warm. I also managed to see the Catholic Abbey and visited the Warm Bath Museum - lots of fun there. [View Full Entry]
