We decided to get the night sleeper train to Hue because we thought it would be funny. It was not. While we were waiting to be picked up in Hanoi we met these other two guys who were on the same train as us. The reason they were delayed and had to get the 11pm train was because of all the massive flash floods that hit central Vietnam - so much so that the floods covered a crocodile farm and 50 000 crocodiles had escaped and people were walking around with AK47's in the street and shooting them! We didn't really hitchike all that way - just a small hitchiking expedition over the hill in Noosa curtesy of Sarah who was gonna do it anyway and what sort of people would we be if we didnt go with her. It was Halloween aswell but when we got in the car at the hostel Stacey asked him if he was going to kill us and he said he was still working so no and we just got in. It was only a couple of minutes drive though and Sarah reckoned she could take him on so we figured we would be ok. Hi everyone, You will be pleased to know we have made it back from the Inca trail alive......only just. Stacey reckons it was the most hideous experience of her whole life, as she pick up a parasite which made her very ill. The peru trip started with us almost being abducted at Lima airport, as we were being stalked around the airport whilst trying to get a taxi. if it wasnt for Stacey being so vigillant (!!) we wouldnt have made it out alive!! What might of helped was me actually getting transportation to our hotel at 1am rather than stressing about being kidnapped!! Hi - we have made it through Brazil and are on the border of Argentina at Iguazu. We have seen the waterfalls here and they were amazing. Found Louise another bloke on the Brazillian side of the falls. Will put the picture on shortly. Went on a boat trip in Paraty and adopted a dog - Mr Dog. Didn´t go snorkelling because of the sea lice. Went to a South American dancing show - was brilliant except Stacey was dragged on stage in front of a thousand people and made to dance with a Brazillian band and play the spoons on some man. Very embarrasing... We have learnt to local language meat ball (fat short woman), thousand feet (centipede), hairy (you are hairy enough/old enough to do that) plus some sign language we can´t put on ... read more
