We left La Paz on the 23rd June and started our epic 5 day bus journey to Rio de Janeiro. The first leg of the journey was an 18 hour bus ride to Santa Cruz where we stayed over night in a hostel called Alojamiento Acre Backpackers which cost under 1.50 pounds a night and you could see why. The next day we headed for Brazil with another 18 hour bus to Corumba which is just across the border from Bolivia, from there we jumped on another bus, this time for 24 hours to Sao Paulo then straight to Rio getting [View Full Entry]

Right then, we left Cusco on the 7th June and headed to Copacobana, Bolivia to check out lake Titicaca. The bus to Copacobana was somewhat of an experiance but very cheap, costing around 9 pounds for a 12 hour journey. The bus was a local bus down to Puno and was freezing cold, completly full and with one lady carrying a baby lama with her for the trip. At Puno we changed busses and got to Copacabana at around midday. We only spent one full day here which gave us enough time to get a boat across to the Isla del [View Full Entry]

Hello all, I am finally out of England again and have started my new adventure in South America. Im traveling with Barbs and our first destination was Lima in Peru. After a grand total of 44 hours of traveling from Wotton, we arrived at Lima at around 2 o clock in the morning on the 27th May at our Hotel which was called the Embajardes. After checking in and taking our bags to our rooms the first port of call was a celebratery beer at the hotel bar and its save to say that the beer in Peru tastes just as [View Full Entry]

Our next destination from Brisbane was surfers paradise on the gold coast, where we finally found a spell of good weather untill the day we left when it pissed down! Once we arrived at our hostel we discovered that the hostel hold a backpackers pub crawl on wednesdays and saturdays, which convinced us that our first day should be spent watching a film and relaxing before going out. That night was a really good one with probably around 150 backpackers partying hard and enjoying themselves from pub to pub! The next day we decided to go to a waterpark called wet [View Full Entry]

Hello again, been a while since i wrote one of these!!!!! Any how from Airlie beach/Whitsundays we headed down to a place called 1770 or Agnes Water depending on whereabouts you are, staying at a place called Cool Bananas. After a long 11 hour coach trip down not much was done on the first day their apart from sleep. The next couple of days however were action packed starting with a surfing lesson the next morning. This was great fun and took up all the morning, im not convinced im built for water however after many lame attempts of standing up, [View Full Entry]

Right from Sydney we made our way up to Cairns, via a cheap internal flight, which was actually on time which makes a nice change. We arrived in Cairns at about 10 at night and immediatly was hit by humidity and heat, my god it was hot! Ideal weather for a nice cold beer in the hostel when we arrived!! The hostel was pretty amazing compared to every other place, it was en suite, air conditioned and had a swimming pool, it was called gilligans so anyone heading to cairns in the future stay there! The first day was spent mincing [View Full Entry]

Ok after two and a half days of sitting on buses, ferries, planes and just waiting around we arrived from Thailand to Melbourne around 5 hours later than expected! Once in Melbourne we settled down in our hostel, finally could appreciate hot clean water, which we failed to find in Thailand! The first night in Melbourne gave me a chance to meet up with Matty, Jemma and Beery, some Australian freinds in St Kilda, where we went to the elephant and wheel barrow, in which a good night was had by all (how cheesy)!!!! The first few days in Melbourne leading [View Full Entry]

Hello people, hope all are well and are looking foward to christmas!! So where to start, alot has been going on in the last couple of weeks or so, will try not to be too boring! Ok first stop in thailand was Bangkok, in a place called the swadelee hotel on khao San road. First imprresions was the horrible smell and smog of Bangkok, although it was all very hectic.
