boat story Thank you for the boat documentary.
Enjoying your blogs - never a dull moment. You're doing a great job, Chris.
Summer rentals booming - blooming? Lots of enquiries anyways. Too bad I'm on the road - I could realy! get things worked up - but got to keep things afloat financially too. Never my strong point.
Hungry and hoping Robert will bring me food back!
Off to Calgary tonight - so back to cottage work.
Love you, Eliz xxoo
So what's your point? You guys look lovely and warm - is that a movie star dog? can i have her paw print?
We on the other hand are in Montreal, weather is behaving - didn't have to plug in the truck (I hope ...) and have finally reconnected with our email, thank goodness - has been a little grim in that department the last week!
Love you!
Eliz
Federal Point Yacht Club Hi Rachel! Nice to hear from you. We miss you and the great folks that we met at the Club and Carolina Beach. It bears repeating that we are very grateful for our time there and your terrific hosting. It turned a bad situation into a very special holiday seasion that we will always remember in the best possbile way. All the best to you and your family in 2010. Thanks for keeping track. : ) CFG
Yahooo We are so happy you are both learning the ropes and staying well. Soon you will be expert sailors passing along tips to other voyagers.
We are great and all is well. Be safe, healthy, and dry:))
Hello from the Federal Point Yacht Club Hi guys!! Well, I see you've made it down the Florida....it looks real pretty down there. I hope the weather is getting warmer for you....today we're getting up to 60 degrees, which is about normal for this time of year. Since you guys have left, I've been left all alone : ( with nobody to talk to. I really enjoyed your stay at the FPYC, and hope you will think of us again if you head back this way. Good luck with the rest of your journey, and tell Ginger hello for me :)
Potluck/jam FRIENDS Thanks everybody. Guess the more we change, the more we stay the same. Or we just get smart enough to keep doing some of the things that work!
So the big saloon with the folding table on the boat works just the way Frank planned for dinner and music. When the weather gets a tad warmer it will all move outside on deck or on shore.
So start planning and bring you music. Looks like we'll be lurking around Florida for a while. xoxo CFG
Glad to hear that it's warming up for you. You both look good! We are busy and keeping out of trouble here. It is raining today but we could stand some warmer climes.
Having the two different stoves on board was a good appraoch. If one doesn't have the fuel, the other might.
Thinking about you and glad that youa are well and that you are having fun. That is what it is all about. take care and enjoy!
Wohoo! I am impressed. Also you do not have to eat frozen oranges.
A jam on MELODEON. I am jealous!

I am playing in my second squash tournament.
It is doubles in the 70+ age bracket. I became 70
on 28 Dec 2009. There is an active group at this age.
Conn was exciting. when I finally got there on 29 Dec
the power was off for 4 days. US Soc Ins sent a note
to the checking account that my mom has died. The
power co. does not bill a deceased person's checking
acct. After 3 calls, finding the bills had been paid, and
2000 homes were sans power due to heavy winds with
fallen branches, the actual reason emerged at 11pm.
I got turned back on after the acct was put in my name.
Any way, probate court has to do its thing. My bro
has not answered any calls as of yet.
Have fun in the warm weather. Toronto is -3C now.
Love, Jim
finally..... I'm glad you have made it to a warm part of our globe. Maybe you can box some of it up and send us all a little warm weather. Smooth sailng my friends.........
Greetings from Key Largo Happy New Year Chris,Frank and Ginger
I've been down here working and living on a 27' Hunter since late October.Hope to meet up with you folks at some point. Hope this message gets to you.
Got a great mooring for you in Blackwater Sound.
Cheers.....Lorne
Dale and Lisa Warm thoughts to you... but the spiced Christmas rum is still safe, waiting for you to visit. We have become a heat seeking missile. The boat is glowing red right now... from the woodstove! LOL Take care and hello to the folks at Parmalat. CFG
JD Thanks for your note. We had a New Year's first. Fell asleep at 10 pm. It's the first New Year I've missed, ever. Must be OLD now or just weary boaters. Frank will be glad of your message. Love to you both.
Bravo Michael! Taking time to catch up while doing a windy anchor watch. What a drag, pardon the pun. Frank had discovered a 'Black Strap 'molasses style' rum that seems to make him warmer.
We hope to take in the Miami Boat show Feb. 11-15. Thanks for sharing the blog with Maureen. Got a nice note from her. She sounds lovely. Cheers. CFG
Sandy Thanks Sandy. We met a couple who drove to Jekyl Harbour just because they miss the nice folks there. It's a hopping little marina with lots o live-aboards doing repairs before proceeding south. Glad you're enjoying the trip! CFG
Elizabeth Thanks my dear. We miss you and the potlucks so much. Seems like we'll all be freezing, working our way down the road or river. We just need a vacation somewhere warm!!! Speaking of Ginger... she met a giant orange talking cat called 'Catfish', on Jekyl Island. It was the strangest thing to see the cat speaking in cat sentences and Ginger looking like she had met a Martian.
Love CFG
Judith Hi: I remember. Very glad Kethryn had you there to help her through. Great to hear from you. Not sure when we will get to Panama City but you are welcome to visit when you're out touring. Kathryn has our phone number or you can send a private message on this blog which we can respond to. Have a great holiday.
Fred and Darcy Thanks for your time and terrific offer. We stayed back in the morning to load up at the consignment store. LOL Now we're stitting out a wind south of St Aug. and doing anchor watches after dragging same. Please say hi to Julie. We will call you. Thanks CFG
meeting you What a great time we had with all of you in Jax Beach. So interesting to hear what you are doing, not where you are going because you are still working on that:). sAFE TRAVELS AND HOPE OUR PATHS CROSS AGAIN. iF YOU NEED ANY HELP IN fl CALLL US 904-731-7316
You're a handsome couple! Looking seaworthy and rosy. Possibly a black bowl for Ginger would help to keep the water from freezing - ah well it's a dog's life!
I'm going back on road any day now too. But just until the end of March - then it's back to business fulltime!
Luv you, Eliz
With a crew of 3, Frank, Chris and Ginger Bear, MELODEON left Fraser Park Marina in Trenton, Ontario, Canada in 2009. Like many aquatic snowbirds heading south, MELODEON voyaged through the Erie Canal, the Hudson River, the Atlantic ocean and the Intercoastal Waterway until reaching sunnier shores in Florida and the Bahamas . 2011-12 is MELODEON's third cruising season, with the last two trips spent lingering in the sparkling waters and peaceful havens of Grand Bahama Island.... full info
