Promises of a warm, sunny New Year from Pleasure Island, North Carolina.
33 11.561 N 79 16.328 W That's insider talk for Minim Creek East, South Carolina, AKA ICW mile 416.

There wasn't as much time to blog at Carolina Beach, NC as we had hoped! In fact, there wasn't any after the dynamic people on Pleasure Island kept us hopping. Fortunately with all the attention (and dinners) Frank did major healing and now we're back on course, with lots of help from 2 new friends and experienced sailors, Paul and Dawn.

'Twas very hard to say good-bye after 3 weeks as we cast off on Tuesday. Making about 60 ICW miles per day, we expect to sneak up on the elusive and much discussed Ben Sawyer Bridge tomorrow, for a 'swing' before 4 pm. This should put us in Charleston, SC in time for a city tour and dinner celebrations with our guest's family.

For those of you who think we're languishing in the heat... the temperature was 19F last night at Barefoot Landing Marina near Myrtle Beach, but yeah, there was NO SNOW!

Don't know if it's good form to blog about the future, but we already had the suger-free Jello for desert, so we're ready for

We knew we were finally getting somewhere when we started seeing plants that don't grow back home.
something more substantial on New Year's Eve.

Our WWAN connection is dodgey tonight in our rainy anchorage, so we'll quickly thank you all for you comments and encouragement. It makes a huge difference to know that you take time to look in on us. Glad you are enjoying the pictures, but tonight we have to get some sleep to tackle big Ben tomorrow.

Wishing you all an extremely healthy, hilarious and Happy New Year!

In these playful seaside colonies houses are painted joyous, unique colours. Who choses the colours? What does it mean? Do you buy a house because it's 'peach'... or not because it is? No matter.. all good!

Ginger doesn't care about photo ops... but she wants to remind you not to get hung over at New Year's.

Thanks for your note. We had a New Year's first. Fell asleep at 10 pm. It's the first New Year I've missed, ever. Must be OLD now or just weary boaters. Frank will be glad of your message. Love to you both.

Warm thoughts to you... but the spiced Christmas rum is still safe, waiting for you to visit. We have become a heat seeking missile. The boat is glowing red right now... from the woodstove! LOL Take care and hello to the folks at Parmalat. CFG
