Star of the Sea Hi Chris and Peaches. You 2 have done really well... especially by our standards. 5 projects and 20 potlucks really slowed us down in Vero. LOL. We seem to be hanging atound Miami right now so maybe our paths will cross soon. Looking forward. CFG
We Wondered Where You Were Hi, just had a chance to catch up with you, all three of you. We have been through most of the Exumas following in the wake of our buddy boat OZ. It has been a wonderful couple of months. We are planning to come back to FL sometime in May and will be keeping the boat in Charleston, up the Cooper River. We have been blogging on and on, but I understand the blogstipation quote totally. Peaches and I so much appreciated getting to know you guys a little in Vero and think of you often when we see unusual sails on the horizon. We will go home for the summer as our original plans to plug on to Trinidad were pie in the sky plans for a first outing. We will restart from Charleston and maybe try to see where you all end up..........blaze a great wide trail and maybe we will find you. Best of luck to you and your revamped bateau! Chris
Hi Kathryn Funny world. We can renew our vows of 'friendship' on Facebook! I have friends who keep asking to be my friend and we're even been Facebook friends for years. Think it's their address book talking to my address book. I'll look for you. C
Great update Thanks for this glimpse into your world. Still miss you. Grandson Jordan and I have been taking advantage of spring's tease; we're cleaning up debris around the pond. Looks great; wish he was going to be visiting long enough to help spring-ready the flower garden (Jim was right -- it's really too big for me but I love it). I've joined facebook if you're interested I can invite you (or you can request to become a "friend." How weird is that! Love, K.
Hi Mike Thanks for staying on watch. All's well. we look forward to your next visit. Trenton wass a wonderful surprise and the next one will be somewhere exotic. I still would like to find one of your star globes but it's an elusive treasure. Looking forward. Locve to Marilyn. CFG
Yeh. A carless world is quite different. So if you get a ride it's Wally Mary or Home Depot. the solution seems to be high heat silcone from the auto dept. at Wally. I feel like an urban ninja detective!!! : )
ah que la vie est belle! Sounds like you have achieved a good balance between work and fun in an environment of adventure. Life is good. thanks for sharing folks.Hugs as always
Simba Dear Marilyn and Armin: We are very sad to hear about Simba, but glad you didn't let him suffer too much. I will remember him like a fiesty gentleman, barking to come and visit.
We're doing fine in Florida and preparing for our escape from the hurricane season. Maybe we'll see you next fall on the water. In the meantime, enjoy the Baltic.
Good luck with your motors. Glad you don't live aboard for that job!
Thanks for letting us know. Chris, Frank and Ginger Bear
simba Hi folks,we are wondering how it's going now. We are sad to report that Simba is no more.Armin is the most upset, and I felt he needed a better place as he was so miserable(he had bladder cancer). We miss him, but at the end we couldn't leave him alone (puddles everywhere). Now he is getting ready to have the engines removed on Monday for an upgrade. BIG JOB.WE may take the boat south in the fall.May, we are going on a Baltic cruise and can hardly wait.So we hope you are well and in the groove now. All the best Marilyn Quickert.
Congrats Lots of great photos and wonderful comments to your blog. I'm catching up on them...reading backwards. Enjoying the virtual journey with you.
Love, K.
Oh my gawd! Hi Chris and Frank,
What a horrid thought -- all that ice! If you read my latest and last travel blog, you'll know that I'm now home, having arrived to frozen pipes and likely the need for a new pump and tank. My trip was wonderful and I have a dark tan to show for it. Next year, I'm going to save to go to Cuba in February with my writing group and hope that if I can get enough money together that you'll be in the vicinity and I can sail with you for a week before flying home. Something to dream about.
Take care of each other...and in your next blog there are kudos to drs and new friends. What happened to Frank? Hope all is well now.
Love,
K.
Bon Voyage A friend at work told me about your journey. I am glad now that I told him to email me the blog site.
I have never before "blogged" but this is a great adventure to be part of...even if vicariously
email returned from Yahoo Hi Chris
I tried to respond to your email regarding mentor and Florida but it came back - no customer at Yahoo
The boat looks beautiful in snow!
Mike Thanks for your call. So near and yet so far. Hope you and Marilyn and your friends can find a few hours to come see us at this gorgeous, friendly marina in Vero Beach before you head back. Visits from 'home' are a rare and precious events for us. Cheers, CFG
Sunny Days I like the shades on Ginger. We are with friends in Palm Beach area 'til 28 Jan. Have enjoyed the weather. Spent the last week in Orlando. Been wondering how it has been going with you three. We will have to get back to reality next week... but the sun is gaining more power in the north and we are chaged to deal with what is left with winter... been pretty good so far compared to last year.
Cheers, Mike
Elizabeth Like the song: "On the Road Again!" Great to hear from you. I know how frustrated you must feel, wanting to be in 2 or 3 places at once with the luxury of being able to concentrate sometime. That's how frantic and weird we felt for years, trying to play beat the clock, work 3 jobs, get the boat going and squeeze in a pot-luck here or there. LOL We're still hectic part of the time, but we're doing it in warmer place. So there's hope...or light at the end of the tunnel. The third year for Windrovers might be the one that takes off. Miss you. Love CFG
Witchcraft Hi Ruth and Mark Yup, we're still here at 'ole Velcro. We're going to get hauled out to paint the bottom so we're trying to choose a boatyard. Any suggestions? Where are you now? ILost track of your blog. C/F
catching up Are you still in Vero Beach. We liked it there. There are lots of cool places ahead of you. Have you decided where to make your crossing from yet?
Take care
Ruth and Mark

With a crew of 3, Frank, Chris and Ginger Bear, MELODEON left Fraser Park Marina in Trenton, Ontario, Canada in 2009. Like many aquatic snowbirds heading south, MELODEON voyaged through the Erie Canal, the Hudson River, the Atlantic ocean and the Intercoastal Waterway until reaching sunnier shores in Florida and the Bahamas . 2011-12 is MELODEON's third cruising season, with the last two trips spent lingering in the sparkling waters and peaceful havens of Grand Bahama Island.... full info
