Mike... and too you! Happy Birthday on June 1st. Sorry we can't celebrate together this year. Very glad you are still on a winning streak with Quinte. Always proud of you. Love CFG
Congrats Hi Chris
Happy Birthday
Hope you are having a great time.
Not much happening here except that I've done well in the races so far.
Oh and my guess was also shredded carrot.
All the best to you both.
Mike
"mystique" Melbourne FL 23 May 2010 I saw your junk anchored off Dragon Point in Melbourne Sunday AM 23 May 2010 and came over to take a look at her. WOW! I was in a 26' double ender "mystique" originally out of Buzzards Bay MA. I had gone sailing for the day and on my return , saw you headed for the Pindea Cswy. I was the one taking photos! Since I sail a rather unusual boat (actually a Victoria Frances because she was built in Engalnd) I gravitate to the BEAUTIFUL. I also saw a Bristol Channel Cuter earlier. Have a safe return to Halifax. MELODEON under sail was a great sight. Margaret
Chevron/Cara Heh C/C Rider: Now who has always wanted the Harley? Hope you both enjoy some good rides. Cara... does this make you a biker chick or Chev a motorcycle papa? Have a great summer guys. Love CFG PS you are the winners of the mystery photo: Carrot peels! Collect your prize when you come to visit. ; )
Screech Hi Jay and Lou. Thanks for the info on Bock. Also recommended by Witchcraft. We're still in the research mode. you guys are really moving. Hope you have great summer. We'll probably be waiting for you at the Sanitary Seafood in the fall. Fair Winds to you. CFG
Hello Terry and Pam Glad you like the blog! Heard things were mild in Carrying Place this winter. Hope business is going well with a new year. We are having a good time... every day is a healthy mixture of work and pleasure... keeps us on our toes. Take care. CFG
AhoynRuling Passion Hi Catherine and the J's. You guys are so brave and inspiring. Sounds like you had a lovely time with the creatures. I think the abundance 20 year old hormones help you all befriend the 40Kn winds etc. : ) We're playing music and preparing for a huge leap via the ICW to Brunswick, GA. Glad you made your trip safely. Have a great summer. Looking forward to our next meetings. CFG
boatyards We hauled and did work (twice) at Bock Marine in Beaufort, NC. Its up the creek between Beaufort/Morehead and Oriental. Very protected and an honest place. They welcome DIY'ers and have the staff, or contractors, to help with any work we can't do. Ok shore facilities; but it's NOT Vero Beach! And they have a loaner car. Prices are better than any we found elsewhere. Biggest deal is they are good, honest folks and the place has collected a bit of a community doing boatwork there...one boat on the hard for over 4 years...still working to get relaunched. A good place to haul and work....not as good to live aboard for a long time.
Hope this helps....we're half way up the Hudson...hope to get the spar pulled today and head into the NY canals tomorrow. Lake Ontario here we come!!!!
Fair winds.....Jay and Lou
Hi again! Ahoy Melodeon! Catherine from the Ruling Passion here. How are you doing? Great blog, and awesome pictures of our adventures at the Marine Stadium Miami! Hope you are all well and having fun. We finally made it back to Block Island! We had some of the best Gulf Stream sailing any of us has had (we saw so many turtles! dolphins! birds! tunas! whales!) from the inlet at St. Lucie to Charleston, South Carolina; and then downwind sailing from there with 40kt winds and 15' plus seas coming into Beaufort, NC. Then we cruised thru some of our favorite places on the ICW like Oriental, NC and the Alligator River/Pungo River Canal and Great Bridge on up thru Norfolk where we had a perfect weather window to sail offshore back home to Block Island, RI. Safe travels and I'm sure we'll see you out there again somewhere! Cheers!
Catherine
Dear Chris and Peaches Aw, you are so right mes amis. It is all very hopeful and we are eye the witnesses. I went looking for your blog and got a response that it was down. Have I made the grand booboo? Hope you are zooming along but not too fast. Bob and Connie were cold and windy in Cape May today. Looking forward. CFG
So glad our paths crossed again You talk of blogstipation and then you produce a tapestry of the past few months that makes us smile. Your comments about meeting and saying good-by are so true. These both cause us hope rather than sadness because this word is much smaller than we might have imagined. We don't need a perfect sense of timing and direction to offer friendship, help and company. You and Frank are the best. See you again. Star of the Sea out.
Toni Thanks Toni. Mystery photo... carrot peels. There's a huge issue about whether your throw your organic composte overboard or truck it to shore in the trash. The manatee eat 100 pouinds of greens per day so I figure they can use some exotic veggies. C
Thanks Donna Yup, healthy lifestyle/hard work. Life is full of contradictions. LOL Think of you every morning when we have our card game with coffee! Must be the Casino connection. Talk to you soon I hope. C
Yo Kathryn spring must be getting to y9ou. I've never seen you in a short skirt. How short??? skip the rasps. they will do their own thing and wbe there when you wsnt them. Congratulations on the show. Really exciting. Love your gorgeous creations. Sorry about the blog delays. We've had wall-to-wall visitors travelling which is great but no time left to blog. Thinking of cancelling or trying simple email so as not to scare people. Miss our escapades. C
Hi Mike Love your comments. We've stayed at Duffy's to visit Mom. hope things are going really well with your family ventures. You all deserve a break. much love. CF
Good Photos I have been keeping on eye open for you blog entry... I was in Windsor this last week. My sister and I were having dinner at Duffy's in Amerstburg when the e-mail announcement arrived on my Blackberry. We came at the town from thre south and thought of Chris and her mom as we approached Duffy's... then the notice appeared. The magic is still working. We have had a good spring so far. Most of the farmers aleady have their corn planted and it is up an inch or two... very rare. This week was a week of celebratiom of the Royal Canadian Navy's 100 th Birthday. Being land-bound I celebrated alone. Cheers, Mike
Fantastic...and about time for update! Hey you Two...this is wonderful. I was beginning to get concerned about you. It sounds like a wonderful adventure with both the challenges and rewards inherent to adventures! I'm gardening (and more...bulldozer stuff too) and loving every minute of it. This is how I heal. I'm reducing the west garden (Jim was right, as usual, too big) and am removing three beds. I'm also going to dig out the raspberries -- boo hoo about that, but they are really more work than I can handle. Wish you were here to enjoy the season. It is an early spring, but I'm hearing on weather reports that it might snow on Mother's Day. Go figure. If you're following my FB page, you'll know I've had success in a juried show. Last night was the opening wine and cheese. I got my hair cut shorter and wore a long skirt -- everying in balance, eh! Really glad to hear from you and to discover the wonderful pix that add to your story. Do keep a copy. I see a book in the works, Hugs to you both....
where to next Sounds like you are having a great time and meeting lots of wonderful people. Where are you heading next before the hurricane season.
George had bipass surgery unexpectedly in March. Our winter time in Costa Rica was cut short by George getting ill and we had to return home quickly for him to be treated. He is doing very well now although the doctors will not let him on the boat this season which of course he does not like very much. Hope you are all well.
Hugs
Lynne and George

With a crew of 3, Frank, Chris and Ginger Bear, MELODEON left Fraser Park Marina in Trenton, Ontario, Canada in 2009. Like many aquatic snowbirds heading south, MELODEON voyaged through the Erie Canal, the Hudson River, the Atlantic ocean and the Intercoastal Waterway until reaching sunnier shores in Florida and the Bahamas . 2011-12 is MELODEON's third cruising season, with the last two trips spent lingering in the sparkling waters and peaceful havens of Grand Bahama Island.... full info

Carrot Award to Mike!
Of course a "carrot top" would recognize that! LOL xoxo
