Good to see you moving along Hi guys,
I hear you met up with Bob and Connie on Meredith. Hope you are having a good time. Enjoy the blogs, keep em coming, I am checking blogs as a way to combat winter. Not as good as being there, but it helps.

Wonderful! Hi Chris & Frank. Glad to hear that you're water bound. Thanks, Chris, for calling. The new silverware should arrive by the end of the week. Exciting. "Don't cry over spilled milk," is my new motto! (Everyone assures me the lost/stollen box will show up, but I doubt it.) I am down for 3 courses (should be 2) and tomorrow will determine whether or not they all run. The good thing is that enough will allow me to return to Africa next summer for a bit. It'll also keep me busy and focussed on something positive. By next spring (2012 -- say May), I'd love to come and spend a bit of time with you two on Melodian. What do you think? Glad you're aloat again. That's as it should be. Cheers. K.
Congratulations! Congratulations for making it through and out from the dry dock to the wet narrows -- soon to be the wet wides. As usual, great pics on your blog. We've just had a few days of cold (-10C) and snow (@10"). Beautiful to look at from the window. Meanwhile, our furnace is malfunctioning again today (the fan stays on, but the gas keeps turning off). Down to 15 C in the house now. Miles tried this and that (he's also got a gas licence), and now thinks it might need a new temperature switch, and he just happens to have a spare furnace that he can take a switch out of. Not the usual neighbour, is he? We are thankful and hopeful.
Happy New Year! Chris and Frank, it's shivery here and overcast with snow on its way for tomorrow and the day after that too. Boo hoo. I'm envious of the blue and green and thought of warmth that I see in your photos. I must say that the party must have been some fun...the pix is a bit on the blurry side! I'm thinking of returning to Africa next summer. Imagine. Perhaps I'm losing my mind (as I've lost the silverware -- no kidding: it isn't in the cabinet, which speaks to what grief can do, but I can smile because the kids think it's just stashed somewhere in this house without closets). My wine and cheese and dinner for friends was a great afternoon-evening, sans pix. Now I'm trying to clean out the fridge without gaining weight since i finally have clothes that fit, having divested myself of the pre-Jim things and accepted the slimmer me. Yes, reading this over, perhaps my sense of humour can stand revising. Take care. Hugs to you both.
newyear Just a short note to wish you all the best in the new year and safe sailing. We are having nice weather here in Trenton. If you see any great buys on boats 28-30 ft range cruisers, please let me know. Have been checking the Myrtle Beach area.

Merry Christmas. Hello Chris and Frank.
Hope you have a nice christmas and a happy New Year.
Like the picture that you put on the blog.
But I didn't see the turkey, or don't they have those in Jacksonville?
Hope that you and Frank have a good year and a save trip in 2011.
Thea and Nico, Sandy and Ember.
Merry Xmas & Happy New Year Hi Chris & Frank,
Ah for warm sun! (says she in the midst of snow!). Glad life goes well and the turkey got roasted, which means great leftovers -- the best part -- I hope.
Take care of each other. Love life,
K.
Happy Holidays I enjoyed your update. Sounds like you folks have been very busy but are near getting back into the water.
Your Thanksgiving turkey sounded wonderful. Reminded me of all the wonderful meals Chuck and I enjoyed on your Yacht.
Happy Holidays and happy sailing.
James
Brrrrrrr! We have no shortage of weather across the top of the Northern Hemi. We in most of Southern Ontario have been fortunate thus far. There are many in North America who have now heard of Strathroy ON and the about 300 souls stranded on the 402 for over 24 hours. We had our family Christmas this last week-end there at Maureen's... 'twas after the big snow and all was well. We are good for the next four days with sunshine but just below freezing. The house is on hold for a couple of months. I am busy trying to get busy, but not too hard. I enjoy your photos and narrative.
Have a good Christmas and a Happy New Year. M&M
Hi, Chris and Frank.
Thanks for the update on your journey to warmer waters. You seem to be having a blast. Good for you!
We wish you a wonderful Christmas and great sailing for the coming year.
All the best,
Herb and Ursula.
Seasons Greetings I hadn't heard from u guys for a while and was pleasantly surprised with your blog entry. It has been cold here for just about the entire month of December. Bah Humbug! I'm presently reading "Flames across the Border" by Pierre Burton. Did you know Tecumseh was a Shawnee? I've also been spending time on the US Library of Congress web site. They have some great digitized films on labour issues and scenes of early 1900 factories and their workforces. I downloaded all of them :-) I hope the new year brings you folks fair winds for your sea journeys. Keep in touch my old friends.
As always,
Gord in the sunpalour of Canada
Happy Motoring! We'll try you over the holidays anyway if we can get you on the phone.
Good to see you doing so well.
Got your card and pic. Love you !!

We're in Vero and miss you guys We got into Vero on Saturday and didn't feel like we were back because your red boat, complete with dog wasn't there to greet us. Hope your prep is done. Your pictures were awesome. Where are you heading first? I know you are going to the Abacos ultimately. Let us know when you are close. Did you see the lunar eclipse last night. Lots of people were out on deck, it was crystal clear here with no wind so the boats were sitting quietly. Miss you both, hope we catch up with each other soon!
Note from Paul I look forward to following your adventures and hope to sometime have an opportunity for more of a visit to the beautiful boat you have built. It was a pleasure yesterday meeting you folks.
Paul
There's a song...on the road again... Hi, so glad for the update. I've been thinking about you and glad that you have a pause before hitting the seas again. Jettisoning can be a good thing (perhaps I'm thinking this way because I must do the same with office and over-kitchen room). No Ginger Witches (or goblins, etc) stopped by here on Hallowe'en, but Creative Play group met and we painted (with oil, no less) and I kind of like what I created. One of Evelyn's friends, Karen, came and lead the workshop. We're not enjoying your 80sF and 60s -- snow on Hallowe'en and a heavy frost last night. Poetry group met last night. Today I must venture out and will wear gloves -- the steering wheel is bound to be cold. I'm beginning to feel too busy and will be ready for a quiet spell when November is past tense. Keep your notes and the pix coming -- love to hear from you and still missing our visits. Kathryn
Yard sale? I would think that you would be looking for bargains for your boat? Of course, if you haven't used it, what good is it......until Murphy's Law decends on your trip and you remember that you sold it at the yard sale......The Nov election will probably have negative effect on the US economy. The jobs that went out of the country under the previous administration will not be coming back any time soon. Did you know, when you build your house on a alluvial flood plain or tidal area that sometimes it will get flooded? You guys and GB would look good, sittin, pickin and grinnin on the Big porch house. Someday eh? I rode the Beemer to Church yesterday and I used Frank's Gloves :-) 35 F Brrrrrrrrr
Take care,
Gord..........
Catching up Good to see you doing well!
Robert comes home Friday - will be his first chance to do more on the bathroom - and I have a bunch of new cottages signed up that need his webpages too. We have been apart for most 7 weeks - with a couple of "family days" together at Thanksgiving. It's getting lonely here in Ivanhoe! Spent a week in Vermont with sister Ruth and friend Louise. We were up for anything and so or days were packed seeing sites, shopping, driving the back roads and just a little bit of hiking. Now I'm doing catchup and planning to go job hunting for a few months.
Nice to hear from you! I think you look sexy Chris under a blanket or not! - all slim and tanned. Enjoy yourselves and let me know when you are on your way. Love you, Eliz XXOO
With a crew of 3, Frank, Chris and Ginger Bear, MELODEON left Fraser Park Marina in Trenton, Ontario, Canada in 2009. Like many aquatic snowbirds heading south, MELODEON voyaged through the Erie Canal, the Hudson River, the Atlantic ocean and the Intercoastal Waterway until reaching sunnier shores in Florida and the Bahamas . 2011-12 is MELODEON's third cruising season, with the last two trips spent lingering in the sparkling waters and peaceful havens of Grand Bahama Island.... full info
