So the weather turned cold this week. It rained for three days. Just a drisly, misty rain. Enough that I was damp when I got to work. And cold. I wore my gloves during the walk to work on Wednesday. The weather dried up for Friday when a bunch of great people from work helped me move a bedroom suite out of one friends house into my place. Monday Morning, I took some photos to show you how pretty it is around this city of Yellowknife. I took these as I was walking Daisey this morning just out behind our house. There are several lakes within the city limits of Yellowknife and they are clear and beautiful. There are lots of small trees around, mostly pine and aspen, and birch growing between the bulges of bedrock. The leaves are just starting to turn colour. We had a lot of excitement here in Yellowknife this weekend as we attempt to Stuff up our home. Friday night I located a tv for sale on YK trader. We went over there and got the nearly new 27inch TV, A nearly new printer/scanner, garbage can and broom and dustpan set for $30. Then.. I went out to the few garage sales in town on Saturday morning gaining more good stuff then came home got the girls (they wouldn’t get up early enough). Well we made it here, About 3pm we arrived. The drive was pretty, but very much the same for a long long time. And, for anyone travelling up here. It would have been really nice to have one of those signs that says " Last Gas station for 250km..." at High Level. Second call to CAA since I signed up. All about this trip. We overnighted in Hay River. That was a late night and my stomach is feeling a little queesy from all the travel but the girls and pets are doing fine. 900 km later ...Were here! Went through snow in Grande Prairie, Truck is really loaded but the springs are not bent the wrong way. Dad says its ok... Just a quick update. On to Hay River tomorrow. Two more days of packing and cleaning and we are starting our drive North. My trip to Calgary yesterday went off without a hitch. Fly in Fly out.. and a day is gone. Today we pack the truck (which is hopefully all of the fixed now) I had a few surprises this last week with the truck that I was soooo glad for, since it happened BEFORE we were on the road. Our newest adventure is coming up soon. Dakotah and I are heading up to Yellowknife. We'll be there for the school year as I take on a job assignment. We're taking an extra person with us too. Talitha, a wonderful young girl is going to come stay with us. If you followed our last adventure then you know Talitha's family, the Knightlys who we visited in Namibia. Talitha is thier oldest daughter. We'll be staying in govenment housing, an un furnished townhouse. Hi there, Dakotah and I are doing just fine here in Kamloops this spring. The weather is just starting to warm up. The snow finally all melted away from my yard last week. I wanted to post a couple of pictures here so that my friends around the world who have slow internet can see how Kotah is growing up.
