We had a lot of excitement here in Yellowknife this weekend as we attempt to Stuff up our home.
Friday night I located a tv for sale on YK trader. We went over there and got the nearly new 27inch TV, A nearly new printer/scanner, garbage can and broom and dustpan set for $30. Then..
I went out to the few garage sales in town on Saturday morning gaining more good stuff then came home got the girls (they wouldn’t get up early enough). We went to a free pancake breakfast put on by the school board and then we headed to the world famous Yellowknife Dump. I had no idea how fun the dump can be. It was like shopping at a second hand store that gets shipments in every five minutes.
There were so many people there. I met a very nice fellow named Donald. He used to work for the government here (I think 80% of the people here worked for Government at some time) His daughter is a forest engineer out in Quebec right now and he collects stuff at the dump and cleans it up for a hobby. I gave him my phone number and he said he would let me know if he has any of the stuff we were still looking for. Another guy showed up and told us about the Blog he’s writing of the dump. He took photos of us at and will include them in his write up. There was a lot of dumping of perfectly good stuff. Talitha collected some really great designer sticky note pads and an awesome purse, we also collected plates, bowls, a coffee table, dresser cabinet for Kotah, candle holders and a bunch of other stuff. On the way home we stopped off and got some disinfectant cleaner and scrubby tools...
Fun day !
No Photos this day sorry. Soon.

Great to hear from you
Isn't it fun getting a great bargain!!! We just read your blog. Really, I'm envious - not sure I'd want to live there for the winter but the road trip sounds like it was a great adventure! Keep in touch!
