I leave May 25th to spend five weeks in costa rica this summer! The first week will consist of spanish lessons in the capital San Jose with a salsa class and a cooking class as well. Then a seven hour drive to Puerto Jimenez where I will be for two weeks volunteering with sea turtle conservation. Then traveling around the country for two weeks going on exciting adventures! I will be back on June 29th

Greetings,
I travelled as a teen to many of the National Parks throughout the United States and into Canada with my parents and my brother. When I graduated from college, I traveled to Europe . We spent a couple of months in England and Ireland then traveled by Eurail on the Continent. We did not get to Italy though we did spend a month in Greece ~ lived there and picked oranges. I then moved to Alaska, where I lived for 13 years and in summers guided wilderness kayaking trips. While there, I traveled in winters to Central America including Belize, Mexico, and Costa Rica. I have also spent time in the Caribbean sailing with my brother on his boat. I traveled and worked as an English teacher in Japan while getting my Masters degree in Education. As a delegate to the UN conference on Women in Beijing, China, I taught a communications class and sang with the Women’s International Peace Choir. During that period, my mother and I did a skiing trip in Vancourver Canada at Whistler, BC. Later, as a volunteer project I started and organized a cultural exchange program for African American high school students from Anchorage, Alaska. They visited Cameroon, Africa and got school credit for their trip. I also traveled in Africa to Zimbabwe, South Africa, Kenya, and Tanzania. My goals for travel are to learn about how other people live in other parts of the world. I enjoy getting to know what daily life is like and how people feel about the environment. I also enjoy seeing the places that are “off the beaten track”. I enjoy camping, hiking, biking, skiing, and swimming. I also knit and take art classes.
Guy has sailed across the Pacific from the Eastern US, in the Caribbean and had lived in and travelled in Europe.

I live in Midtown Sacramento and love my one-mile bicycle commute to the office, where I work as a state biologist. I enjoy playing soccer, SCUBA diving, traveling, and taking pictures everywhere I go, be it in the mountains, on the coast, and underwater.
In recent years I've traveled to Fiji, Vanuatu, Australia, Tahiti, Bora Bora, Belize, Tanzania, Amsterdam, and Mexico.
