We celebrated our 30th Anniversary on March 19th this year and so my husband Craig and I are taking a British Isles cruise on Silversea's Silver Whisper with my twin sister Pat and her husband Mike. We fly into London Heathrow and board the ship in Southamption. Our ports of call include Falmouth UK, Waterford Ireland, Dublin Ireland, Holyhead Wales UK, Belfast Northern Ireland, Portree (Isle of Skye) UK, Inverness Scotland, Edinburgh Scotland, Helsingborg Sweden and Copenhagen Denmark. Whew! Sure hope I keep those ports straight and aim to use this blog to help me do so! Bon Voyage!

Ok, ok... I have to make a confession. I have a problem. An addiction some may say. It's expensive, it takes up too much of my time and I am unable to stop.
I . . . Amy Ellis . . . am a compulsive traveller.
I plan 3 trips ahead and I am usually planning a holiday while on a holiday. The world is too large for me to see everything but I'm determined to see as much as I can. By the 14th September this year I will have stepped foot into 31 different countries. 31 countries in 10 years. WOW! That's pretty impressive but I'm not stopping there. How can I? Not when I haven't even seen South Africa, Japan, Mexico, India and so much more.
Follow me on my 5 month exploration through Europe, UK, Egypt and Dubai, and maybe I’ll see you on my next trip. Canada anyone???

I was raised in a series of small towns in the American Midwest, but from a very early age had this sense of belonging elsewhere. Not another town, city or state, but another part of the world. Eventually, I spent a summer as an exchange student on the Azuero Peninsula of Panama, as luck of the draw would have it.
After college, I returned to the Azuero Peninsula to visit my exchange family and never seemed to find a good excuse to go home! So here I am, more than 20 years later, hooked on the easy charm of my true hometown: Chitre, “where no one is a stranger”, as the city’s motto goes.
