As Mark Twain once said, "Twenty years from now you be more disappointed by the things you didn't do than by the ones you did do.” The adventure I am about to embark actually began about 28 months ago when I decided to pursue a Master’s in Business Administration. The program I chose was the Tech MBA Online through Michigan Technological University located in Houghton, MI. I chose to do this program for three main reasons: 1) It was an accelerated program – a tough 24 months of intense study, but in 24 months it’s all over! 2) It was online – I didn’t have to drive anywhere, I could chose to study as I wanted or however best fit my schedule 3) The final global residency in India. These next few blogs will be about ... read more

Today i woke at what i thought was a reasonable hour to go to the market with Trae, Amy, Laurie and Jacqueline. But then we realized that today was daylight savings time in England, so instead of being like 930 am, it was really 1030 and by the time we were all ready to leave it was already past noon! So, that was an experience. Then, we got on the tube to go and Laurie really wanted to go to this flower market in Bethel Green, but we thought that would take too long, so Amy, Trae and i split from the other two and went straight to the Camden Market. I really wanted to find another purple scarf because, well, I lost mine and really wanted one just like it as it was a beautiful ... read more

So, even though i could barely sleep last night I was able to get up quite early (7 am) and get ready. I had breakfast at the Tourist Hotel where I stayed, which was included with my stay and I checked out. I went to the Train station, which was easy to get to because it was directly across the street from my hotel. I went in and bought my ticket to Amsterdam. I had about 20 minutes before it left, so i just decided to go to the platform and wait for it. I got on and pretty much slept most of the way to Amsterdam. When I got out, I went to Tourist Information to find out about somethings and when I asked the lady about Zuider Zee, she rudely pointed out that this ... read more

Today i woke up at about 8 am and took a shower and french braided my hair, I call that my traveling hairdo. I went to the tube station and topped up my card to get to Heathrow...Surprisingly it only cost me a pound to do that, so that was refreshing and it only took like 45 minutes to get there, not the hour i had planned on. Then, i went to check in for my flight to Brussels. it was through bmi, so i just had to use the self check in machines which were quite easy to use. Also, since i wasn't checking baggage, I had a lot of time to look around the airport at the shops and what not. I had breakfast and waited for my plane. It was on time! YEA! ... read more

Monday---BLC class and then we had the internship class. We watched an episode of the Office, the English version and it was Hilarious!!! And then we had to do mini presentations where we just told everyone where we were working and what not. Nothing too exciting. Tuesday---I was at the House of Commons with Kathleen. She is so cool and in our downtime we facebooked and stuff and then we planned out a time for me to come in the fall to see here at Notre Dame! Goodness it is exciting just thinking about it! I can't wait! Wednesday---So let's just say the Gin and Tonic is not my drink of choice... Hahaha! That is what the guys from work kept buying me at the Conservative Future. That is basically the English equivalent of the College ... read more

The most beautiful castle in the world!!! It truly is and i think it would even be better if it was spring and everything was super pretty green. I took a day trip to Leeds Castle in Kent. It was awesome and the coolest part of this castle is that it is an active castle. It is still used for business meetings and thing. And there are so many things to do and see while there. There is a Duckery! And a museum of Dog Collars. It really was the most beautiful castle in the world. I walked around the grounds, and did the tour around the castle. It was also very cold outside and blustery. Then, after I walked through the castle, I went to the Maze. There is a maze there and it takes ... read more

Monday---BLC class! Not really that cool, although we talked about the structure of education, which was a little intriguing. Then, we had a mandatory field trip to the National Army Museum where we saw a fascinating presentation about what it meant to be a soldier in WWI. Then, while half of the people were at the internship class, Kat and I went to Oxford Circus to see the Sugababes perform live. We also bought their album and got it autographed. Pretty cool. We came back and then I went with Jason and Jeff to the Queen's Anne for some Fruli. It was really fun! Tuesday--- At work today, we did a lot of mail and stuff. At LUnch Kathleen and I helped Greg and a fellow MP put together brochures for their presentation on Foreign Affairs. ... read more

Today, I got up nice and early and took my time getting ready. However, disturbingly enough I realized that my purple glasses, my favorite everyday glasses are missing!!! So very frusterating! And that made me late to the Tower. I got there a few minutes late because of that, but at least Lisa was a bit late to. And luckily we found eachother quite quickly. We paid for our tickets and then, since I hadn't had breakfast, we went to a cute little stand and I got a coffee and a croissant. We then went iknto the tower of london. And we stood aound for a few minutes waiting for our tourguide to begine. Well, once he started, i noticed whata great tour guide he was. He really knew what he was talking about and was ... read more

Today i slept in because I had nothing better to do. And then I got ready and went to the Beatles' Walk of London. I was meeting Erin there and I was glad she got there before me because then they knew I was coming and to wait for me but it was really frusterating because the circle line had significant delays. But the walk was pretty cool and it was something to do for pretty cheap price, about four pounds. We started out at Marleybone station which is where hard's day night was filmed. It was cool to go around...I'm not too big of a fan of the Beatles but they do have some good songs. Then, we walked to the courthouse where Paul and Linda got married as well as Ringo and one of ... read more

Monday for BLC, Colleen and I had to do our presentation. But we got really lucky because our's was on the history of the political development in the UK which is exactly what I am writing my paper on. So, that was really nice. And also it was nice that half of our class was not there!!! We didn't really have much time after class until our internship class, but I was able to squeeze in a nice nap. I went to my internship class, but we didn't really do anything interesting, i basically just sat there trying to remember eveyrthing i wanted to write in my blog...Then, I came back to Metrogate and had dinner and got ready for my internship as my first day was the next day! Tuesday---first day of interning...Can I tell ... read more
