The most beautiful castle in the world!!! It truly is and i think it would even be better if it was spring and everything was super pretty green. I took a day trip to Leeds Castle in Kent. It was awesome and the coolest part of this castle is that it is an active castle. It is still used for business meetings and thing. And there are so many things to do and see while there. There is a Duckery! And a museum of Dog Collars. It really was the most beautiful castle in the world. I walked around the grounds, and did the tour around the castle. It was also very cold outside and blustery. Then, after I walked through the castle, I went to the Maze. There is a maze there and it takes about 30 minutes to complete, if you have an idea of where you are going. It was really cool. HOwever, i quickly caught on about where I needed to go and it only took about 20 minutes for me to complete. It was nice becuase at the end you can walked up these stairs and they give you a great view of the entire maze as well as the gardens around it. Then to get out you walked down the stairs and there are signs so you don't get lost going out and on the way out it takes you below the ground to an underground grotto. It was really beautiful and there was also a foundation in it and then you just keep following the pathway to the exit point. After that I went to actually see those Dog Collars! And it was quite and obsure collection, that it was. After the dog collar museum, i walked around the grounds for a while taking pictures. It was a beautiful place!!! (I cannot stress that enough) Then, I went to the gift shop to get some souvenirs! Afterwards, we were one our way to Chapel Down Winery for a Wine Tasting Tour.
At Chapel Down, we could choose to taste any 6-12 wines...I went for all 12---HEY it was free afterall!!! THere were all great, My fave was the Bacchus. I decided not to buy a bottle of wine there as a souvenir because they export to the USA and i figure I'll just buy a bottle when i get home! After we had the taste-test, there was a tour of the winery and somehow all the pictures that i took all turned out quite blurry...I wonder why that was!!!
On Sunday i took a tour to the midlands to visist the Costwold villages. These villages are used by celebratities and royalty as vaca destinations. The buildings were very beautiful. and I think i got some good shots. But it was very, very cold out and the tour took us to all of them and I was freezing. And it was kinda cool, because each place was a lot like the next, but also very different from the next as well. I bought some postcards and some fashion scarves and at the last village, Stow-on-wold, I had the best cup of tea in the world! It was at a B'n'B! I enjoyed it very much. Then I came back and worked on some homework and some other errands. It was a good time and i am glad that i got to see at least some of the English Countryside...
