Well, on my way back to London, like I said before, I met one of Jay Leno's cameramen. He was really cool. But thing that made me the most mad was that I had to go back to London!! BOO, i wish i could have been at the Olympics longer, but whatever. So, i left, reluctantly. It was really frusterating my trip back. you see, first the plane was delayed for boarding. Then they boarded us and once everyone was aboard, we began to leave, but then they got a call from tower control and we had to sit on the runway for an hour before we could take off. Then I got back to london and it took them FOREVER to get our baggage on the thingy. And I wasn't the only one who was ... read more

What you all have been so patiently awaiting...thank you for baring with me...is this story! Probably the best day of my life! Torino, the Olympics, everything was absolutely amazing!!! After coming out of the train station, the first thing i saw that really captured my eye was this Italian man i saw...now he didn't capture my eye in the way most would like to think...He was strikingly similar to someone from home and I immediatedly knew who it was: Filpi!!! he was about the same height, same build, had the same eyes, and even the same gruff laugh...But i was too intimidated by him to stop and talk. (And as it turns out Filpi had some relatives that live near Torino....I should have just tried to talk to him) and the Canandian wanted to carry on. ... read more

So, really my train started out from Salzburg for me, but i was in Munich for awhile, so that i why I put down that I was there...because that counts for me!!! Hahaha...So, after basically a day of waiting. I got on the train and it was probably the nicest train I have been on thus far. I sat in the same area with another person. It was a young man. He lives in Munich and was taking the train home because he works in Linz, Austria. Pretty cool. The nice thing about our seats, was the outlets, so i was able to charge my iPod and camera batteries. We were only on the train for about two hours. Then i arrived in Munich. However, I had about 3 hours before my train left at midnight ... read more

Today I got up early, showered, got dressed and French braided my hair like I have done just about everyday of this trip. I then went downstairs and had breakfast. I then went back up to my room, packed up my things, checked out and headed on my way. My first stop was to the Fortress. this fortress was commissioned around 1077. It was used as the home of the bishop of Salzburg, for Salzburg is called the Vatican north of the Alps. Actually Salzburg is call a lot of things "...North of the Alps"!!! Well, It took me forever to get to the Fortress because I decided to walk up the mini mountain and not take the tram up it. But it was worth it because it was a cold day and that kept me ... read more

Sound of Music Day Today I woke up quite early and took a shower! Oh it felt so good to take a shower. I was still nervous about everybody not speaking English. But I got dressed and ready for the day anyway. At 8 am I went down for breakfast. I had a bread, jam, butter, cereal with lukewarm milk. Kakao and coffee along with a glass of mineral water. The milk was whole but I t was cold, so that was aight. Then at 845 I went outside to waite for shuttle to come to take me to my sound of music tour. I was scared at first that I might have missed it cuz I was a feminutes late, but I didn’t two other girls from my hostel were going as well. So that ... read more

No, No, No...not like that movie, but that is what was happening after todays travels. We would split! I would stay in Salzburg and Jacqueline would go back to London early. We took the train from Prague to Salzburg. It was a very stressful situation because at the Czech Republic train station, we had to switch trains and we only had five minutes to do so. So the morning and that first train was filled with quite a bit of tension. I just put my iPod on and read my book and dazed in and out. However, we shared our "box" with a man and woman and they both reeked of B.O. and the box was so hot and stuffy...i thought i was going to faint or something. Then, when we got to the train station, ... read more

Europe » Czech Republic » Prague February 20th 2006

We woke up this morning and had breakfast. And then we went exploring the city of Prague. first we went to get our tickets for the train from Prague to Salzburg. They were a lot cheaper than what we were expecting. I am glad that we decided to train it. Then, instead of going back to the hostel to find places to see, we just started walking around the city. It was so interesting...it felt old, but new at the same time. Quite contradictory. Then, as we kept walking we noticed that on most of the really neat buildings, there was quite a bit of graffiti, which was sad, but what ya gonna do? Then, we just kept walking. And randomly we stumbled upon the Defenstration of Prague!!! I was so excited. I've never seen it, ... read more

So, today we woke up early and were able to shower and had breakfast. Again we had bread, butter, jam, coffee and kakao. It was actually pretty filling. We packed up our things, checked out and were on our way to Prague! We got on the tube to go to the Train station and bought our tickets. It was a bit difficult because the ticket lady did not have very good English and my German is barely comprehensible!!! But we got tickets to Prague. And a direct ticket at that. Again it was confusing, because the tickets do not have seat assignments on them, for there really are not seat assignments unless you make a reservation. So, we were a little confused at how that could be, but whatever. Also we got on the train about ... read more

Today we got up very early because we wanted to have breakfast. i didn't really get a lot of sleep because it took me forever to get to sleep. For Breakfast, I had some yogurt, coffee, of course, and some bread, a slice with jam and one with butter! It was really good. i also had some kakao, which is cocoa and it tasted a lot like Swiss Miss and it really wasn't that chocolaty. I then went back to our room and quickly put on some clothes, as we had to be out of the room by 9am so that they could clean it. We went back to tube station, got some money out at the ATM and bought a 24 hour tube pass. Our first stop was to Karlplatz in downtown Vienna, but when ... read more

After my class to the Cabinet War Rooms, I came back to Metrogate, packed up my toilettries and grabbed my passport and luggage and left! It had commenced, the last class for me for SIX monthes! Pretty exciting, eh?!?!! Well, it was a bit stressful at first because I couldn't find some of the things i thought I had packed. Then, we got on the wrong tube...Great! But then we were able to get on the Stansted express right away and were even able to use our ISIC Cards. We checked in for our flight and waited in the queue for to get on the plane. The security was hardly what I imagined. And we were off! To our gate at least....we sat and sat and finally they told us that the plane was delayed. Finally ... read more
