Hullo!! We did a big fat trip a wee while ago covering Bonnie Scotland (our home), France, Spain, Thailand, Malaysia, Singapore, Australia, New Zealand and China. Then we came home and had a lovely baby girl called Beth and Alan went back to work. Beth is 14 months old now (I know - where does the time go??) and we haven't been anywhere exotic for yonks. Consequently we are now 'dormant bloggers' which makes us feel a bit dreary, so we better get our skates on and find some good places to visit and report on pronto!!.................
In September 2009 we went to Cornwall on a little family holiday - absolutely loved it, took lots of photos as you can see, wrote up a little story..... then forgot to publish it. Duh! Anyway - seems silly to write up story again so am publishing this just with photos. Since we took this trip, Beth has had her 3rd and 4th birthdays (V Big girl now!), Shaz started her own thriving Beauty business, and Alan has been progressing with his Open Uni course and is now studying Philosophy of the Mind (whilst working full time in dull project management - more power to his elbow!). Last November we went to Disneywordl Florida for Shazza's 40th birthday - Ikes! Not our usual holiday but we had some fun, got p'd off waiting in queues at

For those of you in the know - best scene ever is the 12 inch Stonhenge lowered behind the band while they sing Stonehenge on stage. Hilarious! Anyway, so we are on our holidays in St Ives in Cornwall at the very far South West corner of the UK. Its a mega long drive from Glasgow so we decided to take two days to do it and make a few stops. First day we stopped near Birmingham at Drayton Manor theme park where they have a special kids area dedicated to Thomas the Tank Engine. Beth likes Thomas and she really enjoyed her wee day out there.

We decided to go without Beth - A) to get a little bit of time to ourselves, and B) we wanted to have a good old drive round the island and do a reccie of best places, beaches and activities in the event that we might want to come back for a proper holiday. After this trip we have decided that we'll def be back and it will be very soon at that! We got the idea for going to Arran from this nice couple we met in a pub in Glasgow Byers Road a few months back. They were raving about this country

He has left today to start work there again tomorrow and Beth and I will be following on shortly to stay down there full time, returning to Uddingston every second or third weekend to make sure our house is still standing. The plan actually was that we would both find work in Glasgow or poss Edinburgh but unfortunately Financial Services hasn't got much to offer by way of decent contracts in Scotland at the moment so we're just embracing the change again and heading back down South. We were dead organised and found a lovely little house in Knutsford to rent for the duration, but on the day we were due to finalise everything the

She's having a phone-in about phobias and a guy has rung in to say he is phobic about tomato sauce because when he was little his big brother told him it was made from horses lips. HORSES LIPS for feck sake - Gag me with a spoon!!!!! What a horrible brother. That's a bit like my shark phobia which I have no doubts whatsoever has been caused by MY big brother sneaking me into see Jaws when I was only 4. Bloody brothers. We should sack them all. I'm actually taking advantage here of the opportunity thats arisen to have an hour or so peace and quiet in

Did you think we were dead? We could have been laying in a ditch at the side of the road and no-one would have known or cared...... Yes its been quite a while since we gave a little update on here. Thats mainly due to the fact that we haven't been undertaking many travel adventures of late. Actually lets just rephrase that - we didn't go ANYWHERE for ages. We swapped all that travel malarkyness for a Project Manager contract in Knutsford and a 'domestic' House Renovation Project in Uddingston (Glasgow) and basically anything that happened outside of those two things for about

You can get to Barra two ways - ferry from Oban, or flight from Glasgow. We flew. It wasn't that expensive really - about 100 pounds per person including tax and Beth went free of course as she's so teeny. Flight takes 50 mins and if it's a clear day you get the most amazing views imaginable, heading out over Oban, up the Sound of Mull (with top views of Tobermory 'Balamory' harbour with its gorgeously quaint painted buildings facing the sea), over the Atlantic ocean bypassing other beautiful islands such as Muck, Eigg

We'll do it properly one day, but in the meantime we have some captions under the photos which indicate what a lovely jolly whizzy time we had in London for a few days. See ya for now, S, A & B. xx

God, I'm so completely tempted to punctuate this blog with 'PARKLIFE' after every sentence but I think even I might get bored after the third time, so maybe I'd better just quit now while I'm ahead. So what's this update all about then? Well, this Friday night we went to the greyhound racing at Shawfield Stadium in Glasgow. Its something that's been on our list of 'stuff we want to do' for about three years and now we are pleased to say that its been crossed off, the bugs gone, and we'll probably never come back and do it again. Don't know why we fancied doing this - its not that we are into gambling or anything -

The last we saw you here was at our friends Craig n Morverns' wedding way back in autumn of 2006, and from that point on, Shaz just kept on getting bigger and bigger and bigger, till she finally exploded and and out popped a little baby girl! Awww, bless! Beth was born on the 23rd January - 4 weeks early- and she weighed in at six pounds and one ounce. Since then we have had heaps of fun with her, getting used to each other and making adjustments as necessary to get the best out of our
