Egg #2: Well, we've only got 5 weeks now till we'll be in Bangkok - I cant quite believe it, the time is now rolling on so quickly it's really catching us by surprise! Egg#1 finished work last Thursday (he's SO pleased). Spent his first day getting up V early, sorting things out, being ultra organised - I was very impressed. 8 days on, and he's more chilled and getting into the rhythm of a relaxed holiday lifestyle. Well, we have survived this year's T in the Park (just). Brilliant weekend, ace weather, top bands, funky vibes, ice cold cider, hell of a hangover. There were 70,000 people at this year's event - about 10,000 more than previous, and the site was laid out completely different than before. There were a couple of teething problems on the first day, in that the site gates did not open till 12:10 (ten mins late) but that was enough to create a queue backlog of an hour and a half. Egg #2 says: Thought I'd better write a bit about us Eggs to set our travel scene.... For about the last year, we've been getting our act together & making plans to leave the rat race, and seek fun and sunshine in countries that we've not yet visited. Two months ago, we both handed our notice in at work, rented out our house 30 miles south of Edinburgh (a seaside commuter town called Dunbar) and moved into a teeny flat in a central area of Edinburgh called Leith. Today Edinburgh saw the Make Poverty History march that has been organised to draw attention to the leaders of the worlds weathiest nations that poverty around the world and particularly in Africa is something that the majority find unacceptable. The so-called Group of 8 (G8 for short) are meeting near Edinburgh over the next few days and so a number of events have been organised to co-incide. Over the years the G8 summits have drawn large crowds of protesters and sometimes rioting has taken place. These guys just seem to attract trouble wherever they go! Who knows why.
