Hi all..... As the name of the blog suggests - this update isn't really about physical travels as such....... Today we were at the hospital in Edinburgh where Shaz had an ultrasound scan confirming our suspicions that she is indeed well and truly 'Up the Duff'!!! 12 weeks and 4 days to be precise, with the bairn due to pop out around Valentines day 2007! As you might expect, we are absolutely delighted, and really glad to be able to share this news with you all now. It's been difficult keeping schtum for the last couple of months till we received [View Full Entry]

Just when you thought it was safe to log onto your PC…… we turn up again with another little Bloggaroooooooo! To set the picture straight here before any of you cunning minded sharp eyed readers clock on… we are not in mainland Europe yet. I know, I know, I know, we said that we were leaving for Spain on the 22nd of June, but frankly that’s all gone a bit tits up and we’re still in Bonnie Scotland. It ain’t so tragic though, no not at all. In fact its rather excellent because we’ve been having a lovely time catching up [View Full Entry]

It's always better on holiday, it's so much better on holiday, that's why we only work when we need the money! Ahh, Franz Ferdinand definately got it right when they wrote these lyrics! Right now we're living through our last day of our big trip..... it's about 6pm and we are flying home tonight at 11:40pm. Before we came away we thought that we'd be sorely disappointed to be flying back to the UK, but in fact we're really looking forward to getting home. This is partly due to the fact that we'll be heading off again to Europe on the [View Full Entry]

There's two main parts to this blog; 1) Our visit to The Forbidden City (hereafter referred to as FC because it takes to long to type it every time), and 2) Some info about how completely wonderful the Chinese acrobats are. Having your photo taken by the locals Firstly, we want to tell you about the bizarrre experience we had on our way to the FC..... Do you remember when we were in Bangkok last year, visiting Wat Po, and the group of Chinese or Japanese ladies grabbed Shaz and pulled her in to have her photo taken with various members [View Full Entry]

Hi all. At the moment we're in Hong Kong and its great to be back here. We've decided that we think it's just like London, but more sparkly and exciting - and everything is open later. However we're not really supposed to be writing about HK in this blog - this is meant to be about our final days in Beijing. The issue with this is that we're now away from Beijing, and in our last days of the trip to SEA, so we are suffering slightly from Blog Lag - we're just so keen to get home for our lovely [View Full Entry]

Okay dokey, pig in a pokey! You'll be glad to know that we're in a slightly better mood tonight. We've still got the rotten cold from hell, however we think it might be on the mend after spending today doing absolutely hee haw except for sleeping, watching films on HBO channel, eating nice food and munching on the Panadols. Since arrived in Beijing we've been pretty floored with this wee cold virus thingy that we picked up in Shanghai, so we haven't got around to seeing as much as we wanted to so far. However - we HAVE been to walk [View Full Entry]

WARNING - We had a pain in the arse day yesterday, we've both got the cold, and its raining. Our bleak spirit is reflected in lots of moaning & cynicism throughout this blog entry. However, there are some cheery bits too - so don't let us put you off too much. Go on, read on, you know you want to. Go on go on go on go on go on go on................GO ON! Yesterday in Shanghai - our last day- we got soaked three times in what can only be described as Constant Smur - you know, that rain that just [View Full Entry]

......... The answer it would seem lays in the region of ten or so. We don't know why this is, however it's certainly a fact that there are a LOT of people here all joining in to undertake jobs of work that to our mind could be done by one or two people. Some examples: 1) Today we walked along the road and saw 9 men (NINE!!!) replanting a 6 foot tree. None of them were standing around either - they were ALL involved, passing the 2 spades between them and walking round the stump advising each other. 2) We have [View Full Entry]

Hello dear friends & family..... today your loving Eggs took a stroll in the basting heat through some hairy mary bike congested streets filled with communist-esque medal shops, poky tat emporiums and newsagent stalls into the 'Old Town'. Cue atmospheric music...da da DAAAAA.... We must have got a bit lost on the way, because whilst we had romanticised the idea of visiting the 'old town' into an image of us swanning around in luxury, sipping fragrant tea from delicate porcelein cups, whilst donning satin slippers embroidered with apple blossom to wander ambient walkways flagged with statue [View Full Entry]

Hi again. What? An update so quickly after the last one? I know - it must be such a joy for you all - but really we are just taking advantage of the free internet access in our hotel room. Today it stopped raining and the sun came out ..... HURRAH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! We meant to tell you in the post train journey update bit of our blog yesterday, but when we got off at Shanghai station, and went to get a taxi, there was a little boy who was pointing and laughing at Shaz for reasons only known to himself. His mum [View Full Entry]
