Bear spray
I didn't even know there was such a thing as bear-spray! That sounds really dreadful, but also a little funny... I wonder if some little bear was watching you from a distance, laughing his furry head off (we tend to romanticise bears in Australia) :) Glad you were ok

Bear spray is designed as a bear deterrent and has a higher concentration of the capsicum extract than pepper spray designed for law enforcement... I hope there was a bear laughing at us - that would be funny. Thanks for reading! Dave

Milk Facial
Oh poor Dave! Mushrooms good, bear spray good - in small doses! Glad you didn't have to make it a bath... that would be milking it. LOL

Milk Facial
Nice one Pammie! I hadn't thought of that. I'm glad I didn't have to make a bath too - it would've been udderly ridiculous.

Mesmerizing
As I sit here reading your blogs in the sweltering heat and humidity in the Atlantic region of the mid south, (US), I get chills looking at cold weather places. Sometimes, I'll look at my wife and ask, "want to go on an adventure"? She then gives me the look that says, "Hawaii or Western Europe"! I counter with Northern Canada or Alaska. The conversation normally dies after that. Thank you both or allowing an older gentleman to travel with you on your posts and and blogs.

Heat
We are both fond of cold places! Although, a hot destination does sound appealing. We are glad you're enjoying the blogs abut the planet's cold parts...

Do not cease exploration
When you hear silence it is a lovely moment... a sense of stillness., nothingness. I heard silence when I was working in Antarctica. I love walking into the fog. Thanks for taking us along on your escapade.

Belugas

Great pictures as usual
The story of the Franklin expedition is such a sad one and such a lonely and isolated location.

Good things come to those who wait
Are you working there or just making a delivery? Sounds magical. I'd love to see those sunrises and sets. You've managed to find the remote remote this time. Good job. Ah and Belugas are coming.

Working in the North
I have a seven week contract to lead and guide arctic expeditions based on Somerset Island. I'll be working in the field for the next wee while... Crawling on the tundra looking at flowers and dodging bears... I love it!

Square Tree.

Square Tree pic use request
Hi Theresa and Dave. My name is Charlie from Louisiana. I am writing an ebook, and in it I make mention of the very interesting square tree of Panama. Did you take these pics yourselves? They are nice! Would you mind if I use your pics; if it's ok, I could attribute it similar to this: Pic Courtesy of Theresa and Dave of Travelblog.org. If you agree, just send an email. Thank you and all the best!

Obey the Provodnitsas!
You had me laughing, as I too learned quickly that no one messes with the Provodnitsas, or the ticket booth woman, or the grocery lady, or the shop clerk. I had many stand offs. So cool to stop off at the different towns to experience the Siberian life isn't it? I really enjoyed reminiscing through your trip. Thanks!

Big Hammers
You need a bigger hammer to hit the big hammer with! Lol. Nice subject matter - not the typical travel blog.

Addicted to the cold climates
You really need to go check out a warm beach at some point. Seriously. I think you spend 90% of your life in a parka and mittens. Love the silly walks...good stuff. In search of the perfect hot chocolate. Oh by the way, do you own any sandals? Just asking.

Morning Coffee
I had to laugh at the question about owning sandals. A nice start to the day. We do own sandals, they're likely covered in dust somewhere at a back of a closet. Warm beaches eh - never thought of that before... Hmmm.

Theresa's Frosty Face

No goggles
This has to be one of the classic photos...gotta be on front page! What is Theresa thinking?... the expression in her eye brings to mind.

It was what she was saying
It's Dancing Dave! It was not what she was thinking! It was what she was saying!
