Adventures Ahead!
Yellow Knife, Northwest Passage--even the names cry 'adventure!' While your Madawaska River splashing sounded great, your amazing plane rides (yummy little Twin Otter) stunning, and your escape from Black Knight pretty funny, I'm dying to see what you found after you waded across that freezing river to your camp. I googled the camp, and it sounds out of this world. The destination and your journey there--pretty spectacular!

Another Great Post
You do get around. Is Arctic Watch a Quark operation? Fascinating part of the world. Closest I have gotten is Baffin Island back in the early 90s with friends for a couple of weeks....hiking across the tip of the Island through Auyuittiq National Park. Hope you both are well. Drop us a note sometime and bring us up to date. All the best...Doug and Robin.

PE Island Off Season
There are advantages and disadvantages to traveling off season. Plenty of ice cream and lots of great hiking. Sounds perfect. I never have read the Anne of Green Gables but seems very popular.

Haven't been there yet, want to, this makes me want to even more! :)

Addicted to cheese
Dave says he will have it engraved on my urn, "she loved cheese". My mouth is waiting as I read your blog. Cheese, cheese and more cheese please. When you come to Florida to see us we'll have to have a cheese tasting.

Missed cheese opportunity!
We are cheese-aholics! I missed my opportunity to raid your fridge of cheese, I was in Fort Lauderdale last week for a work related course. I was only there for three days though - next time! You could also raid our fridge if you ever head to northern Manitoba?

Cheese tease!
I was literally salivating as I read of the cheeses available. I bought some 'cheddar' here in Peru, which turned out to be inedible processed cheese. I read that Nova Scotia was inviting Americans to immigrate if Trump is elected. Museums, wild trails and cheese are certainly enough to draw me!

Monterry Jack? Havarti perhaps?
We really do feel for you Tara Cloud! Plastic cheese disguised as cheddar, with the texture of jelly bean and the aroma of diesel... It is such a crime that stores would even stock such an awful product! We will be thinking of you next time we purchase cheese...

Off season travel
We often travel in off season and find it can be charming and a bit isolated. We love going in museums and such when we are the only ones there. Certainly peak season offers better weather and the buzz of activity but your quiet solitude has something to be desired. Dave joined the smart phone world a couple of years ago and has been very happy. He said the Smithsonian called and wanted his flip phone. ha ha.

Getting with the times
Thanks for your comments. The off season certainly does have its merits that's for sure. We are probably gonna the Smart way in the next wee while - We've both sold our messenger pigeons and gotten rid of our rather out-dated bottle-messaging kits too...

Solitude is anywhere
To the end of the world and pack. Embrace those magical quiet moments. Blogs and memories will be with you no matter where you are. Star Wars 4 times? really?

What, no more albatross and icebergs?
We are certainly going to miss your poetry of those nether lands with their exotic wildlife and your wild exploits there. And I can't imagine Manitoba has much in common with San Telmo. But maybe there will still be some polar bears lingering at home, not to mention an arctic outing or two. Happy trekking, trekkie.

Incredible photos!
I thought for awhile that you were going to be an albatross, sailing the Antarctic seas forever! But what a perfect way to end your adventure--lots of your favorite birds, typical rough seas, being surrounded by icebergs and then a visit to the mythical South Georgia Island with its fabulous wildlife. Great season!

I would love it
I would love to be an albatross! I would fly the world and be the master of the seas.

Humpback Hello
Wonderful pics of humpbacks at play. Incredible you can do so from inflatables and not have these giants tipping you over. My experience is humpbacks do not breach in still water but I have only seen them on their migrations down the eastern coast of Oz so conditions are different. In rough seas I have seen them leap from the sea with smiles on their faces. Your pics look as if they are talking to you.

Amaziing
I LOVE receiving and reading your blog... Brings back any wonderful memories... I would love to go to Antartica again but it is such a big wide world with so much to see and so little time.... I went trekking in Uganda and Rwanda to see the mountain gorillas and wonder if you had done that during your Africa sojourn..

Vomits!
Hi Basil, love your account of the vomiting selfie! I too would have laughed at her whilst battling with an urge to punch her lights out! Lol. I just can't grasp the mentality of some! I truly despair. Blessed are the thick for they shall inherit the earth! Love to both you and Theresa xxx

Beasties
As always Dave (and Theresa) enjoying your travels from the comfy couch while also looking out the window to our own chilly landscape. However, we are missing the sea creatures! So swing that boat around and come for a visit :) Take care and have fun, PS
