La Paz
Don't think my aging lungs could handle the altitude. I was wheezing atop the Jungfrau years ago after riding the train to the top and that was about 12,000 ft. Always guard your chocolate from petty thieves.

Never enough chocolate
Running off with someones chocolate will get you into trouble. Glad you found more. Loved the description of landing in La Paz. We love following your explorations.

Potosi Mint
I first heard about the Potosi Mint when researching silver coins that had been recovered from the wreck of the Spanish ship Nuestra Senora de Atocha. The Atocha, heavily laden with gold and silver, sank off the Florida Keys in 1622. The search and subsequent discovery of the shipwreck in 1985 is an interesting story in and of itself.

Great to hear from you!
Glad to hear that you are enjoying yourselves! The photos are spectacular! The adventure reminds me of the Dragoman adventures! My bike is back on the road and anxiously awaiting your return! Heather

Salt Monument
This is the logo of the Dakar Rally, which will be run in Bolivia, Peru, and Argentina in 2016. Looks like they made clever use of salt to make a billboard.

Wide Open Spaces

Reserva Nacional de Fauna Andino Eduardo Avaroa
Having been through there in February this year I am taken by how these wilderness areas change from month to month...always beautiful as your pic attests. We had the salt flats in flood. What month were you there?

Wide Open Spaces

No floods here!
Hey Dancing Dave! We have just been to the salt flats in mid April and there was hardly a drop of water to be had. Even some of the lakes were getting a wee bit dry.

Between Worlds
Loved your explanation of the world between where you've come from and where you are. Fantastic concept. As you say a poetry of comparison that does not last for long. The city full of art work, the streets are alive. Ineed the small things.

Hey D & T: Great to hear from you! Loved the photos of the street art! Lots of inspiration there...

Mural in Valpo

Lovely journey!
You've just visited some of my favorite places--Valpo and Neruda's home(s), the multicolored Quebrada de Humahuaca and best of all friendly Iruya perched in the mountains with its infinite places to explore. Hope you keep running into friends and enjoying magical moments.

The Icebergs of the Mechior Islands

Longing to meet you
We hang on every word. Some day we hope to sit down for dinner and a couple of beers and hear a few tales you didn't have time to put in the blogs. What a grand experience.

Fantastic colours
Hi. I am from India. I loved your picture captioned as Fantastic Colours. It is really a fabulous picture. For that matter most of your pictures are stunning. Thanks. Your picture reminded me of our journey from Tawang to Bumla in Arunachal Pradesh.

Volcanic Valley

A fitting farewell!
Grand adventures--a treasure hunt for the F, a fine climb, seeing a tabular berg (my dream), a mighty, collapsing berg and more exotic wildlife than any of us will ever see. So glad the Drake gave you a last wild, dancing crossing. Until next year....

A treasure beverage
Your opening description had me picking up the phone to make a reservation. I've got to try that chocolate. Sadly, I can't travel right now as the realities of work consume me. But in the meantime we will live vicariously through your fantastic adventures. Love your acknowledgement that everyone is out playing. Great stuff.

Penguinmen

Personification
We humans can't seem to help relating to the animal world. The penguins with their smart dinner suits so well depicted here. Or maybe in Ushuaia its a great way to while away the time. I find any excuse in Patagonia is a good excuse!
