I'm a 23-year old graduate who's spent the last 2 years travelling and writing for a travel magazine. My aim is to create a blog and website that focuses on 'real' travelling and provides advice and information about some of the more unusual aspects of backpacking.

I was born and raised in Louisville, KY and still live there sometimes, as well as in Maine and other various places, enjoying their varying benefits. I love magic, brass bands and being close to the land.

I always wanted to travel but never had anyone to go with. I was hoping to go with my boyfriend until he ended it and wanted to be friends and go traveling alone to find himself as he's lost who he is. It really hurt but I thought I should do it for myself either way to find more friends and make amazing memories. I can save £3,000 by September 2012 and I'd like to go for 3 months. I'm interested in Oz and stopping off on the way to somewhere safe as I'll be a female alone! Can anyone please give me advise on trip ideas and if I'll have enough money? I'm very shy and nervous, but without sounding big headed everyone that's met me says I'm a lovely girl who once talking to is someone who's up for a laugh and polite, honest and caring. I just want to have adventures and not regret never going for it. Even if it has to be alone. Thank you in advance and I can't wait to hear from you all. X

Traveling since the night I graduated highschool, I have been using any means possible to continue - hitching, busing, using trains, planes, and many times just simply walking. This is where you can read my stories and get your own ideas as well. Cheers. Website : www.vidasuerte.weebly.com

I am 27 years old, born in Bournemouth, England. I spent the last 5 years living in London where I attended University and started a marketing company to subsidies my studies. Having now graduated I am in the fortunate position of taking my work on the road as I intend to see as much of the world as I possibly can. I like to think of myself as fairly outgoing and someone who enjoys a drink and a laugh although I am completely at ease with my own company. I traveled through parts of S.E Asia, Japan and Australia in my early 20's circa 04-06. Whilst I like to pretend I am somewhat insightful the reality is I am a borderline illiterate with a limited grasp of punctuation and a tendency to use words I don't really know the correct meaning of. I would like to be able to put all perspective readers at ease with a 'It's my first blog, I'm sure it will get better' line, in reality I can't I am in fact quite sure this is as good as it gets. I am always keen for advice, stories and free stuff. I absolutely despise reading 'I did this', 'I feel this' but I have no idea how else to write this.

In March we commence a 12 month trip around Australia with our children Suzannah (14) and William (9) and Brandi our 12 yr old Border Collie. Accommodation is in a camper trailer being pulled by an 80 series Landcruiser fitted with all the good gear! Our aim is to see some of the more remote regions of the country via a number of Australia's great 4WD treks. Along the way we hope to pick up some seasonal work to supplement our income and afray our expenses.

Planning a world wide trip - with a main focus on Asian / African countries. WHY. This is my last ditch attempt to lose weight. I don't really want the surgery and fat farms are expensive. so I came up with this idea its a win win -- see the world and lose weight. So why would I lose weight while traveling. Two reason: A) I would be moving - I have always worked at a desk job so I move VERY little. B) Sorry to say I don't like asian or spicy food - so I am going to places where I won't be enticed :) Sounds crazy - maybe crazy enough to work!

In February a group will be joining Books For Africa (BFA) founder Tom Warth, who will lead a group from BFA and Hand In Health (HIH) to The Gambia to meet with elected officials along with prominent business and university members about ways to help end the book famine and support the United Nations Development Goals of educating women and children. As part of the journey the BFA team will join others from HIH for the first ever African Book Walk. We will do two walks through the capital of The Gambia accompanied by children from many local schools. Then as a team we will walk the Trans-Gambia highway, from the Senegal border on the south to the Senegal border on the north, to raise awareness about the book famine and distribute 22,000 books to Universities, local schools, and co-ops. This collection of books also contains a “law and human rights library” generously donated by our partner Thomson-Reuters. Check out their website here for more information.
