So our stay on Koh Phi Phi Island continues and after 7 weeks of living, working and partying here it’s starting to feel like our home. We have made some amazing friends and explored the island some more. For those of you who have never been to Phi Phi your missing out, for those of you have…you have been to paradise! It has it all, amazing beaches, friendly people and not a car or moped in sight. The island is linked together by a maze of cobbled streets. So small it would be very hard to get lost (Although we have witnessed several drunken people walking around in circles) everywhere you go you see friendly and familiar faces and all of us who work/live here are like one big family. Tourists come and go daily and ... read more

We originally had wanted to go to Phuket down on the south of the country. However, the posh posh twat eating delivery McDonalds at my hostel in Bangkok said it was just going to be like your standard European holiday clubbing destination. So we just thought, lets head for one of Thailand's laid back hippie islands, Koh Phi Phi. I'd never heard of it before but apparently it was supposed a real backpacker experience. After 22 hours of bus, including 5 different journey legs and about 8 hours of sleep, some air conditioned some not, lots of annoying each other, two hour stops in the middle of nowhere eating pot noodles and crisps, marvelling at three legged dogs and scorpians we arrived in Phi Phi. I didn't get a first visual impression of the island as ... read more

Vi tager ... read more

So we arrived in Phi Phi and started the familiar search for accommodation, only this time it seem the whole island was booked up and there was no room at the inn! We eventually found the one hotel with availability for that night so we had to take it, on first impression it was ok but once again time told a different story. The sheets had these very suspicious stains on them and we were worried that it was blood from bed bug bites eeekkkk we had so far managed to avoid bed bugs. So we got out the silk sleeping bags and got very little sleep. We had to get up really early to go back to the two places that said "come back tomorrow" to see if they had any availability, but there was ... read more

Geo: 7.7455, 98.7754Beach Time!! The infamous beaches of Thailand is too good to pass up, although depending on the type of person you are will reflect the type of beaches/islands you go to. So as the less party/get smashed type of people Anna and I are we decided to head towards Krabi and catch the ferry to the Island of Koh Phi Phi Don.Our trip started when we tried to get to the bus station with some difficulty. We wanted to chill out in a park before going to the bus station at around 5 but the park we wanted wasn't really a park. So we ended up taking a train, walking, taxi, local bus and more walking just to get to the old bus station, so a further taxi ride to the new southern bus ... read more

Hi from Koh Phi Phi!!! The weather is not brill here today, hence the sitting in an internet cafe writing a blog! We had one last night in Koh Samui on Wednesday and splashed out on a 3 course meal at a lovely restaurant. It cost us nearly 30pounds (which is expensive for Thailand as we're used to spending about 4pound to feed us both!) We looked for a ladyboy cabaret show but the only one in Lamai beach was closed down. As we walked through the bars, Anton received a lot of attention from the Thai women - they didn't seem to care that he was with me!! Another early start to go to Phuket, so we were up at 6am :-( and after a ferry ride, followed by a bus and then a taxi ... read more

Andy says: Apologies for the delay in posting another blog but our time since Kanchanaburi has been mainly taken up with travelling, snorkelling and drinking! We went to Hua Hin from Kanchanaburi after our train was delayed by 4 hours (guess that's typical over here!). It is a pretty nice beach town but not too much to do there apart from visit Monkey Mountain which, unsurprisingly, is full of wild monkeys. I found the whole thing pretty unnerving since they looked a little bit rabid and the males seemed hell bent on raping everything in sight (I did learn some new techniques though...). From Hua Hin we travelled to Koh Tao which was the part of the trip I'd been waiting for. A paradise island with amazing beaches and beautiful weather if you ignored the afternoon ... read more

Sodeli so, jetzt binich doch tatsächlich scho wieder dihei!

Arriving in Koh Phi Phi we were excited to return to Paradise, our favourite place on our Thailand trip in 2009. The water was clear and turqouise and the scenery still looked amazing. After paying a 20baht towards the beach clean-up fee when getting of the boat we headed off to The White, Our home for the next 6 weeks. The streets of Phi Phi were a lot busier than before, but the ambience of the place remained the same and The White was as nice as ever. It felt good to know we could unpack our stuff, settle down and have some kind of routine for a while. Our Good friend Lewis was arriving in 2 days and we couldn’t wait to be reunited with our 3rd musketeer! Shattered, that night we decided to have ... read more

We arrived on Koh Phi Phi Don and not much has changed since I was last here in 2006 other then the fact that the beach is cleaner, and a few more resorts have been built. We set out right away to find a hotel/guesthouse. We knew we’d be spending a little more than normal as Phi Phi is overly touristy. We ended up finding a fan room for 500 baht a night. After dropping our bags off we put on our swim suits and set out to explore. We walked around the main town, headed to the other side of the island (which we were told they dump sewage into the water and to not swim), and then hiked to Long Beach. We swam in the water till we saw a huge rain cloud coming ... read more
