Woolly says – We’d spent a day buying some essentials, well according to the women they were, I certainly don’t need shampoo or shower gel to keep me looking handsome. We also wanted to save ourselves for a trip to one of Bangkok’s night markets, one metro stop away was Rod Fai Train Market noted for it’s vintage feel which sounded like something we might enjoy. We arrived as the sun was setting and the stalls were setting up and more importantly before the masses started to arrive which enabled us to wander happily past clothes and make up stalls (including one that sold clothes for mammoths!), bag and jewellery areas and to see the fascinating food on display. Woolly says – Our train journey from the coast back to the delights of Bangkok had been long and hot, even with fans in the carriages and windows open with a breeze running through my fur it was sticky. I was looking forward to a cool room and a chance to lie down, our digs for the next few nights provided the chilled room along with cockroaches and a bathroom that even I wouldn’t use and I’m a lot less fussy than the women. Having scoured alternatives and come up with very little unless we wanted to move twenty or so miles out of the city we decided to grin and bear it. Sunday 11 March 2018 Weather back to sunshine after a cooler couple of days. Slept well. Our original plans changed due to technical difficulties! Thai tummy. Pat did some packing in the morning and we left the room at 1.30 pm for a stroll. We walked along the road for a while then back to Sena Fast for a Starbucks visit. Picked up some supplies in the supermarket and back to the room for 2.45 pm. Pat did some more packing in the afternoon and had said that she wanted a drink by the river on her last night. Woolly says – Breakfast today was a croissant on the move, not the best of French pastries but it filled a small hole in my tummy. Having navigated our way through the underground system and back towards the Grand Palace with a little help from a tuk tuk driver we were at our first destination by 10.15am, sadly so were several hundred coaches filled with tourists. Keeping my paws firmly crossed that they were heading somewhere else we paid for our tickets and entered the gates of Wat Pho. Wat Pho is one of Bangkok's oldest temples and has existed before Bangkok was established as the capital by King Rama I. Woolly says – We’d had a great flight, the food on board was really good and washed down with a couple of wines (all included) I sat back to watch my film of choice. Bangkok International was huge and having stood in a queue for an hour to go through immigration we were finally stamped and ready to get going…..to another queue! Several weeks passed as we waited for our chance to get into a taxi, with humidity at one hundred per cent my fur was completely stuck to me and the women looked like wrung out dish cloths, just as I’d started to think abut where to put the Christmas tree on the concourse we were led to a waiting vehicle and our next adventure had begun.
