Today I awoke to my alarm. An alarm with the purpose of awaking me for the morning job of taking my temperature. Today I am in quarantine. A quarantine that started 5 nights and 4 days ago. Today my voice is starting to return. I long to sing again. Today the sun is shinning, but I must stay inside. I must stay inside because I am in quarantine. I am not sick. Today I enjoyed 2 short intervals of human interaction beyond the walls of my apartment. I had to get food. The time was short but the walk was slow. Today I made someone laugh. This Spring has been wonderfully full of adventure! We started it last weekend with a very busy, very fun trip down to Busan! The Cherry Blossoms were at their peak and the weather was perfect! It involved going over 300km/hr on a train, riding roller coasters, going to the biggest Hot Springs in Asia, seeing Sharks up REALLY close, a trip to the hospital (not me!), a fascinating and disgusting Fish Market, Candie Strawberries (INCREDIBLE!), potato/apple homemade hashbrowns each morning, celebrating a co-hostel traveler's birthday, and oh yeah, LOTS of walking! I' haven't exactly been on the ball with my blog lately, and combined with my AWESOME memory this one will more than likely have a few gaps. However, I'm going to attempt to summarize an eventful four weeks in one blog. I'll start with my second weekend in Korea we made the journey to Nami Island. I was unfamiliar with Nami before I visited, but to anyone who is familiar with Korean drama's, specifically "Winter Sonata" will know it well. Nami, like almost everywhere else in Korea, is a couples scene, where lovers go to show off their relationship to the masses and reminisce over images from the original sappy-ass Korean mini series. Finally, a blog where I can put all my pictures!!! I am sooo excited about this new blog! I really will keep it updated, the intent and the will is there! So, to begin I will be moving all of my older pictures over to this blog and then I will start adding on all of the new photos that have been piling up on my computer! So today was my Kindergarten students graduation. While I've only been with them a week, I'm actually going to miss the lil buggers because they are so freaking sweet. It was one of those experiences where you try and go the whole day without laughing because you couldn't believe what was actually happening, but you hold back out of respect because you know this is how they do things. For example, in between the parents holding up signs like we were at a sporting event, music ranging from the 20th Century Fox theme, the James Bond and Mission Impossible themes, and yes, even the Adam's family theme, I found myself dieing at the sheer ridiculousness of the children's costumes, dance numbers, and their own version of one of my favorite childhood stories, Pinocchio.
