WARNING: The following blog might contain grammar errors as the writer of this blog is of european background. On Monday the 3rd of July we arrived in Bali. Bliss bliss bliss! We were really tired and decided to stay in Sanur which is where we usually stay. the hotel we normally go to was fully booked so we stayed at the Gazebo Beach Hotel as we found a good deal. This is on the beach and on the main street so we figured it would be a great little treat to ourselves. Unfortunately we were given the cheapest room at the hotel so cancelled our second night after hearing a rat being attacked and killed by a snake in the walls. Yes this happened. The next morning I ate a bacon and chorizo toast for breakfast ( # NOT LOCAL ) We went to the beach which was excellent for surfing and then went back to the hotel to nap through the afternoon heat. In the evening we went to the beach and some people and kids were flying kites. Then we swam in the sea and ate corn cobs on the street and chicken nuggets. I still thought we were in Europe because they were more tourists than locals and when there is so much tourists it means loads of shops and I hate shopping. Today grab and myself crossed the toll road, connecting the South tip of the island to Kuta and airport area green and blue sea was on both sides, toll is 1100 IDR I went like Moses !. and learned some useful bahasa along the way..; Bali sangat indah ! Bali very beautiful !... read more

There is a gecko, in my cabin. To find out if it is dangerous in any way, while googling I came across this amazing tip on how to find out if you have one in the house; if you see it running up the wall, you have one ! Here is my tip; if you hear one in your house, you also have one . There are many ways to try get rid of them that seem quite exhausting , so will keep my AC running and see how it goes. Hi! Ah, Bali. Bit of a place isn't it? This was my second visit here. My last being in 2012. This time around I stayed at the Sun Island Hotel and Spa in Legian. This was a great start. The hotel in my opinion was great. I stayed in the cheapest places possible on my last visit as I was on a year long trip however this time I went for something a little better and it wasn't expensive by any stretch of the imagination. The staff here were awesome but I'll get back to that one a bit later. First up my hotel was on JL Legian and a 5 minute walk to the nightlife and a 15 minute walk to the beach.
