After leaving Puerto Iguacu we bussed it down to Buenos Aires which tookaround 17 hours! It wasn´t as bad a trip as I had anticipated but still very tiring! On arrival we headed for the bus but ended upgetting a taxi to our hostel in Palermo! The taxi was pretty reasonable at around 5 English Pounds! Once inside we realised we had chosen a rotter of a hostel, If you´re ever inBuenos Aires thenplease donotstay at the Arribo Hostel, it is filthy! The state and smell of the place was woeful, no locks on doors or toilets and they had a cat, I´m allergic to cats so you can imagine my annoyance at watching it climb all over the kitchen appliances! Getting over our initial nightmare we decided to hit the ground running and check out ... read more

After leaving Rio we decided to head down to Iguacu Falls, we had toyed with the idea of visiting Sao Paulo but after hearing poor reports and with not a lot of enthusiasm redgarding the place we decided to give it a miss! So, a 25 hour awaited us! The price of the ticket was around 60 EP which wasn´t too bad at all! Getting to the station from Copa was also really easy! One bus, boom! We set off, having heard it was cheap to fly and finding out it wasn´t (at this point in time anyway) was a bummer but the trip wasn´t so bad! There is very little to see but as we set off at around 2pm it wasnt too long till nighfall and we slept most of the night! Thus making ... read more

Rio De janeiro, what can I say, was fantastic! I would advise anyone to check out this city. First off was Sugarloaf Mountain. Instead of booking a trip we decided to check this out on foot... we could see it from Copacabana Beach so decided this was a good idea. We quickly realised this was not as easy to get to or as close but still a walk along the beach on your first morning in Brazil isn´t too bad at all! (Probably the cleanest and best beach I have been on in my life so far) On arrival at Sugarloaf I quickly realised that this would entail two cable car rides. As I am afraid of heights it wasn´t really my idea of fun but the pro´s outweighed the con´s and I got on with ... read more

Ok so, our first day kicked off with a 5am start at Newcastle Airport (UK) with a flight down to London Heathrow which went off pretty smoothly! A 5 hour wait between connecting flights however meant we knew our day was going to be long one! The flight from London to Rio wasn't bad at all, around 11 and a half hours and again it was a pretty smooth which kept us happy! (the unlimited free alcohol supplied by British Airways was always going to help) When we landed getting through the airport was fine, no problems with immigration which was pretty fast and collecting our luggage posed no problems! The transfer to our hotel was quite quick although pretty expensive as it seems taxi services at the airport have set fares rather than having meter ... read more
