Hi All !
I am planning our first trip to Singapore with my wife and kids, somewhere between Mid May to Mid July.
I seek advice on how to make the most of this. Let me share my plan below :-
2-3 days in Singapore, where we plan to cover the Sentosa Island, Universal Studios and a walk around the city marina Bay etc. PLUS some shopping.
Then I plan to take a cruise from Singapore for 3-4 days. may be star cruises.
What I need to understand is :-
1) What are the fine family hotels in Singapore to enjoy a comfortable and economical stay.
2) Shall I book this trip through a travel agent or go on my own.
3) what are the must see places in Singapore, specially with kids around.
4) Joinin a cruise trip along with Singapore trip makes sense or not .
Few tips on these will really be helpful. Please do share your experiences. Reply to this

I have only been to Singapore once, but it is a very safe and easy city to explore. I don't think you need to book any tour, everything can easily be done on your own. For children Sentosa Island (take the cable car to get there), the Zoological garden and Universal Studios should be perfect. The Botanical garden can also be fun (and the flowers are just amazing!), and there is ample space for running around, if they are in that age. Sentosa has so much to offer, so you should allow most of one day to explore it all.
Don't know about hotels (there are many choices) or cruises.

Hi Crooze!
Hope you'll find these suggestions useful:
1) What are the fine family hotels in Singapore to enjoy a comfortable and economical stay.
Check out Movenpick Heritage Hotel, Sentosa. It's a 5-star hotel located in the city centre that comes with an affordable price tag. See link: http://www.id.pyotravel.com/hotel/movenpick-heritage-hotel-sentosa-sgw1s1299h
2) Shall I book this trip through a travel agent or go on my own.
Depends. If you want to have a hassle-free (and subsequently headache-free holiday) with a generous budget to spare, get a package that comes with everything, from hotels to guided tours. Else, if you prefer to be adventurous and don't mind making a wrong turn or two, it'll be best to book the trip on your own. Reply to this
