Today marks the end of manipura chakra or the seat of our fire. I must say I am quite okay with that as old demons of frustration with process and boredom of pedantic semantics got me down. Sort of like restless leg syndrome but worse. No doctor prescribed meds for that one worth taking. Believe me, I have tried...this is why i am now on the path of yoga. Longer lasting highs... Tomorrow we also finish our Ekadasi kriya or 11 day cleasing process. I am not too sure what to expect from this besides "processing" and "possible agitation." I am quite enjoying the vivid images that pop into my head. Especially the topless lady in the sea. I quite liked her. The dead horse washing up on shore...not so much. I am trying to integrate ... read more

Today is my day off and I should be home doing laundry but I don't feel like it so here I am...I am really starting to feel like I am absorbing the energy of the place. It is amazing you can see the energy around the newcomers and the energy around those who have been here a while. It could actually just be excess dust but it sure makes people look relaxed. I am a dusty, tanned gal now and it feels somehow authentic now. Like I belong. I no longer carry the wired busy "life" vibration of an overactive nervous system. I learned that our systems are 50x more active now than 100 years ago. Scary stuff...thank god for Pranayam. I made it unscathed throught mooladara (root) chakra am now feel like I BELONG on ... read more

Well yoga training has begun and we are day three, just wrapping up our exploration through the muladhara chakra. I have learned more in three days than I did in my entire previous teacher training. Honestly this training is really journey of healing...we've done meditation, kundalini movement meditation, chaotic breathwork, art therapy, healing with mudras, chanting...it is endless. I can't believe how fortunate I am to be a part of something so amazing! FINALLY someone has been able to explain on a physiological level WHY pranayam is so amazing. I would say that I am pretty much ecstatic over the content and look forward to each new day. This training has strengthened by love of yoga, of India and of myself. I am getting to the point where I couldn't imagine not being here every year. ... read more

So for those of you who are older and say...what the f&%k is Psytrance?...google it and turn your speakers down. Then once you have that lovely wonderful sound tinkling through your brain imagine me sitting beach side on plastic chairs watching the sun retreat into the haze miles above the actual horizon. One of our Capricornian members was having a birthday so we went out for dinner. The owner took a shine to one girl in our group and plopped a bottle of rum on the table and four glasses. I'm like hmmm....are we supposed to drink that straight? Yoga training and rum...yes I am in Goa. We then meandered down the beach to watch a group called Kundalini Airplane. Music was a B, people watching was an A+. Move over hells angels - a really ... read more

Wow what a journey to get here! I set a new personal record for hours of awake-ness - 47 to be exact. Yup 47 hours riding high in the sky. Aside from fearing to press the ettiquite bell in Korea which I later learned plays wonderful sounds of the ocean to cover you bathroom sounds, everything went pretty smooth. Then we landed on tarmac in Mumbai and it all decided to go sideways. Ahhh Mother India I love you for being on your own time frame. You will do it when YOU feel like it. This is said it all respect of course. The pilot told us ten minutes to the gate and that turned into an hour. My next flight was in two hours so I was mentally preparing to miss it. Hey, this is ... read more

Arambol is 32 km northwest of Mapusa and really mobilized for tourism. If you can manage with basic amenities but want to stay somewhere vivaciously, Arambol can be your best bet. Arambol is a strung out village by the seashore where the prime beach is a splendid stretch of curving sand. The Village’s two beaches are beautiful and still relatively unexploited – thanks to the locals ,Who a few years back managed to block proposals put forward by the local landowner to site a sprawling five-star resort here. Arambol Beach from the Main Road Modern Arambol is scattered around an area of high ground west to the main coast road. From... read more

Saturday - Day 17 After going to the centre to do the same and after managing to get hold of a t-shirt this time, Kelly, Denis and I went to Arambol as arranged. The drive was very enjoyable and when we arrived, Kelly and I headed for the Blue Pyramid bar whee the hippy festival was going on as we waited for denis to turn up because he'd left an hour or so later than us. We parked behind Om Star, popped in to visit Babu, then started our long walk along the beach in the midday sun. Eventually, we arrived at a surprisingly quiet bar/festival and entered the enclosed, fenced off area to see what was going on inside. Apart from it being a very pleasant space with a stage and sound system at one ... read more

Saturday - Arambol. Kelly and I had been talking quite a bit about going to Arambol for a little trip. It's where the Beasts were a year or so ago and where Kelly lived for a few weeks when she first got to India. I've heard great things about Arambol and was intrigued as to what the fuss was all about. This hippy paradise where people bathe in clay, swim in lakes and party on the beach all night. This is my interpretation of Arambol as I experienced it. We left vagator at around 11.30am to make sure we had a good few hours to walk around in the day time. It was a long ol' scooter ride from Vagator - longer than I'd imagined - around 45 minutes or so. We passed various sights on ... read more

Well well well... Arambol, or used to be known as Harmal, is located 17km north of Anjuna. It's well known for it's hippie vibe and I'm not surprised; saw all the various kinds of hippies from the original to wannabe; and also traveller like me who just want to enjoy his getaway with a cup of tchai. With my bag-pack and stuff, I tried walking down along Glatonsbury St to find Chillies Guesthouse. I called up Derrick Fernandez the day before, and booked a room. He quoted 300Rps, well couldn't ask for a much better deal. To my dismay, he kinda forgot to reserve a room for me, despite the reservation I made the day before. A guy brought me down to a small alley nearby the German Bakery, and asked me if I'm looking at ... read more
