Monday October 28th Travel day today We're going from the shaolin school in denfeng to wudang. we get up pretty early, and have a typical chinese breakfast here (wes is hurting lol) and are on the bus by 8 am. we need to catch a plane at 11:50 and the airport is about 1.5 hours away. Our bus driver was either drunk, or there was some big problems with the bus, cuz we were all over the road, infact we almost ran into a truck. We arrive at the airport, and get checked in, we're on a 45 minute flight, then we have to take a 3-1/2 hour bus ride...long day. The flight was uneventful, and pretty quick. Catherine, her Dad and I took a 3 day trip to Wudang Mountain in Hubei Province. This mountain is located in a very remote area and contains a series of Taoist temples and complexes that were built around 680 AD in the Song Dynasty. It is also renowned as the birthplace of Wushu, the predecessor to most modern forms of martial arts such as Kungfu. This is also one of the rare examples of ancient structures in China that were relatively unharmed or destroyed by wars and revolutions. We begun the journey by taking a high speed train from Wuhan. I was supposed to meet Helen at 12:30, and I had this grand plan that I was going to get up at 9:00 and get everything ready.. Well, at 11:30 I got up because there was knock at my door. I couldn't decide if it was my door or not, so I didn't get up until the second knock. It was Kyle. I'm sure I looked a mess in my pajamas and glasses.
