Just a relaxing day for the adults here, kids are training 3 times today. We'd wander around today but it's raining like a monsoon out there. Tomorrow we're climbing Mount Wudang, which should be interesting.... read more

Monday October 28th Travel day today We're going from the shaolin school in denfeng to wudang. we get up pretty early, and have a typical chinese breakfast here (wes is hurting lol) and are on the bus by 8 am. we need to catch a plane at 11:50 and the airport is about 1.5 hours away. Our bus driver was either drunk, or there was some big problems with the bus, cuz we were all over the road, infact we almost ran into a truck. We arrive at the airport, and get checked in, we're on a 45 minute flight, then we have to take a 3-1/2 hour bus ride...long day. The flight was uneventful, and pretty quick. We get on a much smaller bus and we're all packed in and we're off. After about 2 ... read more

Sorry for the late update, but we've been crazy busy here now that we're with the karate group. So, today we've decided to venture out on our own and do a bit of shopping, we've decided to go the the Silk Road Market, this place is quite the contrast to where we are staying where we can go downstairs and buy a 90k watch and a 45k cellphone. Silk Road is known for there counterfit items, and Wes has been asking for a couple of months to get a fake Rolex, so we're gonna try. We're lucky that to get there we only have to go 4 stops on the subway here. I've seen videos of how busy they can be here, so we head out with caution. A really good thing is that subways here ... read more

Flight was un-eventful service was very good - they kept the drinks and food coming, we all had the steak which was pretty good. Wes and Kirk discovered the lounge with all you can eat snacks and chocolate bars. We all managed to sleep for a few hours which will help with the jet lag. We land and go clear customs. After you land in Beijing you take a train to get your bags, that train is some kinda busy!!! Not quite Beijing subway in rush hour, but it sure felt like it! We grab a taxi to our hotel, and i tell you i would not like to drive here, there is some kinda crazy drivers here, our driver even cut off a cop who had his lights on!!! The ride was about 45 mins, ... read more

Thank you Air Canada... So, after a thoroughly messed up day running around like a chicken with no head (organizing the house, taking care of loose ends, etc, i inform Jason that the toilet is plugged - shitter was full - and the basement drain isn't working.) After sorting out those things, we're off to drop the pointy ear'd mennace (Mimby) off to the cat hotel for a month, so the rest of the gang can be in peace at home. Half way there we get a call from someone at Air Canada who Jason was talking to for the last 2 hours about our flights...She says we have good news and bad news, basically EVA gave away 2 of our first class tickets from JFK to Taiwan by mistake and there was no way we ... read more

Hello from LA Mad Crazy Day today! Our flight with Air Canada was originally scheduled to leave at 8:30, so we got up around 4:30, just to finish packing up, and return the car to get to the airport by 6:30. After Jason got up and took his shower he decided to confirm our flight. Our flight didnt exist, there was no 8:30 am flight to Toronto. He went back to the original confirmation number and checked it with AC. They changed the flight to 6:45 am... WTF??? It's now 5:45, i literally just got out of the shower, and the kids are still sleeping! Lemme tell ya we moved super fast, our flight is leaving in 1 hour, and we're still in our hotel, maybe 20 minutes away from the airport! We called the porter ... read more

Hey all from Beverly Hills! We got off to a late start today, as yesterday we had a really long day/night coming in from Fiji. We had a couple of options for things to do today, one being going to the Jay Leno Show, but we'd have to leave the kids in the hotel, the other was going to the Hollywood walk of fame during the day, then to Santa Monica at night. We choose the latter. We didn’t have a long drive to Hollywood Blvd, maybe 10 or so minutes. We did drive down Rodeo Dr. in Beverly Hills, just cuz it's a famous street and we had to see it. We arrived at Hollywood Blvd, only to see it was blocked off where we wanted to go (the Kodak Theater) we found out later ... read more

Thursday April 27th - Part 2 Hello from the city of angels! So we land, get our bags (there are a lot of them now!) and head off to Avis. We end up getting a Jeep Cherokee, and are surprised to find all our luggage fits! Jay programs the GPS with the Beverly Hilton’s address, and we’re off up the 405 freeway to Wilshire blvd. The Beverly Hilton is pretty close to everything, 3 blocks from Rodeo drive, and it’s close to Sunset Blvd. We arrive and check in (again, Jason got this place on price line) and get some help getting our bags up to our room. It’s a pretty nice place, with the beds being really comfortable! We all got showered and cleaned up. Dinner time, lets see if there is an olive garden ... read more

Thursday April 27th - Part 1 Bula from Fiji! Big day ahead of us, as today we’re leaving Fiji and headed for Los Angeles, specifically Beverly Hills. Real early start today, Jason got up around 5:30 still very tired, and took a shower outside watching the sun rise (really cool!) The kids got up around 7 am, to catch our 8:30 flight. The nice thing about being here is the airport is a 2 minute walk. We can bring up our bags, and when we hear the plane land we can walk up to the airport to get on, infact the guy at the airport called us when the plane was getting close. It turned out the plane was delayed until 10:30 am, which was ok, as Wes, Kirk and Paulina headed town the road to ... read more

Wednesday April 26th Today’s our final full day at Marau Vale. Even though we’ve experienced Fiji time to the fullest our time here seemed too short. Today started pretty early, as we wanted to get a full days activities. The plan was to get up early, and send the kids off with Maureen and Vika to the waterslide, and Jason and I would go snorkeling out by Honeymoon Island. The kids got off ok at around 8:30, but the moon gave us an extremely low tide, and Sireli’s boat got beached. So our plans were shot for a while. Well, making use of no kids being around we went next door to Coconut Grove to do some final shopping for some crafty things. The large mask that I saw there a week ago was still there ... read more
