Promised ourselves a relaxing day so had a cooked breakfast at a nearby cafe, caught the free tourist bus to Circular Quay and a ferry from there to Manly, a beach resort 25 mins across the bay from Sydney. Spent the day on the beach reading, in the pub or window shopping. Had Thai for dinner on Manly Pier before catching the ferry back for the fireworks in Darling Harbour, the newest and most trendy part of Sydney. It was buzzing with people in fancy dress (belated Halloween) getting on party boats. Lots of bars and restaurants, great boardwalk with plenty of seating places to people watch. Fireworks superb (made a mental note to try and get to the IMAX and watch a movie before we leave this vibrant city)
