Wow, we are 30 days in to our trip as of today. We have driven about 5,000 miles, and through 13 states. We have only had about 30 minutes of rain while we were driving. And, we have had rain one night while we slept.

This morning, we left the RV park in Jackson, WY, and headed north through the Grand Teton National Park. We saw our first bison on the trip, and Sheila saw an elk off the side of the road.

After we left the Grand Tetons, heading east across Wyoming, we came around a bend and saw about 4 cars stopped along the road. As we approached, we saw a grizzly bear by the side of the road.....awesome. We sat there and watched him for about 5 minutes before he wandered back into the bushes.

We had lunch in Casper, WY, and then continued toward South Dakota. We drove through a town in Wyoming with a population of 4.....yep 4. We are spending the evening at a hotel in Lusk, WY. They are forecasting thunderstorms tonight, so we decided to stay out of the dusty RV park just down the road.

We are about 1-1/2 hours from Mount Rushmore in South Dakota. That is on the itinerary for tomorrow.

Is it just me or do bears groom much better than bison?
