Going back to the crazy stuff that happens here, I some short stories I want to share with you.

-My friend finally solved the mistery of the sign close to Century Park that read "Ramp for defromed people". She says it should read "Ramp for deformed (=disabled) people". Very politically correct....

-While searching the internet, I came up with this website that had me laughing for 2 hours (I swear) is the best compilation of "Chinglish" or "Engrish" ever!!!. www.engrish.com

In fairness to the Chinese people, I am also including this website that shows awful mistakes by"Westerners" using (or misusing)Chinese characters in tatoos. Do not miss the "CRAZY DIARRHEA" girl, the "Prestigious Blinds" (instead of the intended "William") or the story about this guy from UK that wanted a tatoo that said: "Love, Honor and Obey" and instead got " At the end of the day, this is just an ugly boy" (check out the picture)

On another note, we went to our first birthday party!!! It was David's birthday and he decided that he wanted to dress like a drag. Jenny, David's wife and my friend thought it was a great idea but then girls should dress like men (to complement the drags) We went shopping to the underground shopping malls (they are really cool, you can find all kinds of funky, counterculture stuff) the only problem was that we could not find shoes that big. I think the largest size here is 7 or so for ladies' shoes.... Here some pictures... I am the one with white hair and beard... Omar did not dress up since he said he is too "macho" for that.

-Finally, I have to report that some "western" friends of my friend Debbie went to a famous chinese restaurant for dinner. They got a table under the staircase. After maybe half an hour, a couple of restaurant patrons (chinese, restaurant patrons) were so drunk that on their way down the staircase decided to VOMIT over the hand rail ... and yes everything fell over the "Western" table. Can you imagine how gross that must have been??? It gets better, the restaurant manager wanted them to pay for the food and when they enfatically said "no" the restaurant staff called the police... The police showed up and after an hour or so of fighting the police decided that for this time they were excused of paying the bill. Fortunately, I do not have any pictures.

This is China.

wow
What a great blog! So glad you sent it to me! both the engrish/hanzi websites are a crackup. I guess it serves people right for not doing their homework...;p And definitely way crazy about your friends' experience at the restaurant. They should've made the VOMITERS pay. - Natasha
