Hi Everybody,
Thanks for your messages. I love hearing from you and getting your suggestions of places to visit. I have put a few pictures on the blog of Hong Kong and Japan. You just need to click on Gallery and then on the photos displayed. I have several of HK and 2 of Japan on there. You may be able to see a slide show with a click. The climate is warmer in Japan than I had predicted. It is in the mid 70's. We have not seen any Americans, Africans, or Muslims while we have been here. We met a nice economics professor visiting the local college. He could speak a small amount of English and was helpful. A few signs are in English but no tv stations. We get CNN but they have a Japanese interpreter voice over on the network. We just try to figure out what is going on by looking at the pictures or reading the news on the internet. Japan is a very modern country with up to date electronics. Yet, I went in a shop yesterday and the owner totaled my purchase with an abacus. The Nagoya airport was like the HK airport in that it was all glass, new, and ultra modern. When I went to the bathroom, there were symbols on the doors which I didn:t understand. Now, I realize they were showing you if the stall had a toliet. I chose one with a porcelin bowl in the floor. That shocked me for such a modern airport to have that. Our hotel has a fancy bathroom with push button choices on the toliet that I have never seen elsewhere. Strange!!! I am sure many of you think we are nuts to try to visit so many countries in such a short time. I will admit that it is physically tiring. Maybe, this will work out to be a new diet plan for me.
We will catch a flight today for Hong Kong and then another for Seoul, Korea. In Korea, we are planning to stay on base.
Take care,
E

I'm catching up on your trip as I just got home tonight from Colorado to see Bobby off to Iraq. Friday the 13th one a very sad day for me seeing all of our soldiers leave for war. Hearing all about your good time will bring a smile to my face so I'll look forward to them.
