God love the Swiss....arrived in the arv into Lucerne...spent a little time looking around before heading to base camp at Latuerbraunen (or something like that!!) had a great downstairs bar called the Bombshelter which was in fact...a nuclear bomb shelter...the swiss despite their neutrality have one of the most highly trained and ready armies in the world...... good knives too!!!!
the next day a few of the boys and i hired mounatin bikes and went riding....have to say....must nearly be the best day on tour...after cable carring it half way up a mountian.....pushing them the rest of the day...having a gorgeous lunch about 3000m up.....we found our path home to be virtually suicidal....laughed cried and screamed all the way to the bottom......saw some enormous stacks..(well done matty king and frank)...only had a small one myself.....but great day all round....
Switzerland (apart of course other than our own wide brown land) is the greatest place i have ever been.... it really is picture postcard perfect.....beautiful...... and how else would i finish my time there but at a party in the bombshelter where you had to dress as something beginning with an S or an E....i went as sergeant slaughter....good times....
then back into germany..........
