Ok....so its all typed up and good to go..BUT this comp sucks and is dying on me! More Sydney pics to come too....oh and I have been to Tasmania as well....its all go and all good! much love to yall! Still in St Kilda and I have a bunch of pics from there too...stupid computer, oh well! I'll be back! xoxoxox
Yay for computers that actually work!!!

Much like every time we ever take a taxi in Melbourne the taxi driver wasn’t quite sure where we wanted to go which was quite confusing seen as we wanted to go to the City Bus Depot. He dropped us off in the street, luckily enough he was just about right and we made it. The bus was pretty deserted so we got two seats each…nice! Ruth was genius in her decision to bring our pillows. We got all settled in for our 10hr bus journey. Ruth being Ruth fell asleep before we were even out of Melbourne. I did manage to get a good doze but we were still pretty much comatose buy the time Ruth’s mum came to pick us up from the Bus Station in Adelaide. It was only about 6am but I could already see that Adelaide looked great. Rowena’s house is just one street up from the beach in Glenelg…braw!!! We had a wee chat whilst Ruth…being Ruth slept on the couch! When it got to a more reasonable hour we headed out to the store to pick up all the food we needed for Rowena’s Birthday BBQ…yup, my first ‘throw another shrimp on the barby’!!! After shopping Ruth and I headed down to the beach for a wander. For the first time in 2 months I actually had a room to my self, and after the bus the night before it was fab. The BBQ was great Clare Ruth’s sister made cocktails and her boyf Rory was on barby duty…so really all we had to do was drink and eat, erm OK!!!

Monday I was like a big kid, I was so excited to get to the Nature Park!!! First of all we went for a walk into Glenelg and booked a wine tour for Tuesday then headed back to the house. Rowena dropped Ruth and I off at Cleland Wildlife Park after lunch, we bought some bags of food and headed straight to the Koalas….eeek!!! We met Cinnamon first and got to give her a wee pat, so soft! The Ranger told us all about Koalas, they are pretty mush blind and stupid as animals go but they are sooooooo cute! Next we met Dotty and yay we got to hold her. They cuddle you like a baby, so excited!!! We had lots of pics taken, I was so snap happy that day that I used up most of my memory card! Haha! For the rest of the afternoon we got to wander round the park and feed Kangaroos and Wallabies, once I got used to the idea that they weren’t going to charge me I just loved it, they all kinda held my hand as they ate a few took a wee nibble at my hand but it was all good! Ruth got accosted by and Emu, funniest thing ever!!! He was trying to get into the bag of food whilst she fed a Kanga she was twisting all over the place trying to keep it away from her face which would have worked better if she wasn’t shielding her face with the hand that was holding the bag of food…I was laughing so hard I couldn’t even get a photo! They are some ugly big beasts, I don’t even want to talk about the holes they have on the side of their head! Boke!!! We also got to see wombats and Dingo’s, they are a bit scary…a dingo stole my baby!?! What a braw day!!!

I had an early night as I felt sick at the thought of having to be up early for the wine tour…7am! Pathetic I know, but now that I’m working in a bar my earliest shift starts at 12pm. It’s a tough life!!! We got picked up just along the road from Rowena’s house. Id love to say that we were on time for our pick-up but the tour company actually called us to make sure we were still coming, oops! I totally blame Ruth! Hey-ho, we ended up having to hang around for a bit to meet up with our tour in the City. Sensibly they didn’t start by taking us straight to a winery seen as it was only 9am, not that I would have been adverse to that! Because there are so many tiny towns in Oz they have all got silly things that make them stand out, like the biggest frying pan in Oz or the biggest Shrimp in Oz…see where I’m going with this. We ended up in the town with the biggest Rocking Horse in Oz! No one on our bus seemed too enthralled, I don’t know why!? Ruth and I were the only two to climb it, anything for a photo op! We did make it to four wineries in the Barossa valley. The first one was the Wolfblass which I think we get at home, it was fab! We got to try 8 different wines and I think I became a wine snob right there! As far as Oz wines got I am def a Shiraz girl for red and Chardonnay for whites Sauv Blanc for NZ! Now if you offered me a sparkling Shiraz or Merlot I wouldn’t say no…ever! They are so yum! Lunch was a bit of a rush and quite comedy as we were getting off the bus our tour guide pretty much told us to throw our starters down our neck cause we only had a short amount of time to eat, got to love that kind of relaxing meal! We figured everyone would be enjoying a glass of wine with lunch, you know seen as we were on a wine tour, turns out everyone other than Ruth and I had some kind of soft drink whilst we supped on a tasty local Shiraz, oops! The other 3 wineries were smaller family run cellars but equally as good. Somehow we managed to get a reputation for ourselves simply by standing close to the bar which we thought was the point…when they were offering up the wine they were like “oh I knew the 2 Scottish girls wouldn’t say no!” The cheek, haha! After our third winery it was obviously having some effect as we decided to buy wine glass carriers and a wine glass that goes around your neck. They are actually great, maybe not an essential buy though. One wine you will all have heard of Jacobs Creek is made in the Barossa valley, we didn’t stop at their cellar but we did drive over Jacobs Creek, which we thought was rather funny at the time, that might have had something to do with all the wine we had already tasted now I come to think about it! On the route home we stopped at a damn called the whispering wall. It was amazing. Ruth and a few others walked to one side of the damn and we stayed put at the other. Just by whispering at the wall I could hear Ruth as clearly as if she was standing right beside me! The pics show how far she was from me, it really was amazing! After that we headed home and as I’m sure you will believe Ruth fell asleep almost as soon as we got back on the bus!

Wednesday was a lazy day we wandered around the shops and headed down to the beach to brave the elements, it does sound like a lovely walk but we were almost horizontal walking against the wind. So much for the Adelaide sunshine! Wed night we all headed out to the most amazing organic pizza place, I don’t think I will ever get over it! For desert we headed to the most amazing chocolate place. I had chilli hot choc, snice!!!

Thursday was our only night out. We met up with Laura (friend of the family) and her friend in Glenelg. Probs wasn’t a good idea to make our only night out the night before we had to take the 10hr bus trip back to Melbourne but I honestly didn’t even consider it. The bar we met in was dead so we hopped into the car and headed to the Glenelg hotspot!!! Alarm bells should have been ringing when the night special was $2 “champagne” Drink it I did and suffer I did! We had a good boogie though! Friday I thought my head was going to burst! I really let down my mum and Carol buy drinking such cheap rubbish!

Now remembering the bus journey to Adelaide we were hoping for two seats each and a cheeky wee movie. As we were getting on the bus the driver sat us together but told us we could spread out as soon as we were on the road. On the way to our seats I noticed a Father of the Bride tape sitting on his seat so I was rather chuffed. That lasted for all of 2mins as the bus filled up…no joke filled up! Ragin doesn’t describe it. Oh well, we thought at least we can watch the video……nope! Some ass on the previous journey had broken the VCR….absolutely RAGIN! We did laugh, only because crying would have been embarrassing! To say it was the worst journey of my life would be no understatement, I think it has left me with a permanent twist in my spine, happy days!
