From Pai we travelled for 28 hours to the North East coast (Ko Chang)!! by just about every form of transport going. We arrived in paradise, in terrential rain! We found a very 'bohemain' backpacker area around a gorgous tropical beach (lonely beach). Lots of wooden huts and interesting wooden bars with very psychadelic lighting! Many a hippy and 'happy' shake to be found! We have been here a week and been taking it very easy, its a shame the monsoon season is at a peak here as its been raining vitually everyday. However the island is stunning (even in the rain) and still uninahbited in many areas.

We saw a tornado in the distance over the sea- which was slightly scary as everyone on the beach wondered if it was heading for us! Forunatley it didnt. The next day we took a taxi to a fisherman village on the sea, we walked all day around the coast and sank in to mud up to our knees, almost lost my shoes, then a local offeres us a hose! We were slightly embarrased! After the most devine seafood and feeling a bit tired we waited for our return taxi. It never arrived so we headed off in the direction of home hoping a taxi may pass! The rain was so terrential that there were rivers pouring down the rediculously steep hills, but no taxis came past so we walked the whole way back (90 min)s, up and down the hills in flip flops and pack a mac!! What a sight we were! The locals found us funny anyway.

We've had enough of roughing it in our wooden hut with cold water and upgraded for about 3pounds a night each for a dvd player and air con! Ah bliss...

Off to Cambodia and Vietnam on Saturday.... hopefully less mozies and rain there!
