We arrived in Port Clinton, Ohio last week. Our plan was to stay here (Camp Perry campgrounds) long enough to get our cooktop and refrigerator fixed. Joe was able to install a new cook top and all of the frig parts have arrived so it will be fixed tomorrow. Please say a prayer this is our last problems with our RV. We are getting really tired of it, but the manufacturer (Heartland) has bent over backwards to get everything taken care of.

Our first adventure here was to travel to Put-In Bay on a catamaran. Of course we picked the coldest and windiest day to go there (high was 63). First we rented a golf cart so we would have transportation on the island. It was a good call on our part. We then visited the Perry Memorial, which was built in honor of Admiral Perry. This memorial is 307 feet high so I got some great pictures of the bay from the top. Thank goodness for the elevator. Next we headed to Crystal Cave which is one of the largest geodes and about 30 feet underground. It was an awesome site to see. After we came up from the cave we toured the Heineman Winery. All of their wine comes from grapes grown on the island. Across from the winery was a butterfly aviary, so I just had to check it out. It was not as big as the one at the SA zoo but it still had great butterflies. I even found the patio chair I want.

While we traveled around Port Clinton and Sandusky we saw several things of interest. I found a house I simply fell in love with (at least from the outside). Joe and I also saw the boat we would love to have (in our dreams, right). We traveled out to the end of Sandusky bay and found the Marblehead Lighthouse. What a great view of the bay from there. I was all about going to the top, but the 72 stairs stopped me cold in my tracks. I still am having trouble with my ankle so stairs are a big no no...

We are still having a great time. We leave here Saturday and our next stop is Niagara Falls baby!!!

Sounds like fun!
Glad things are falling into place and you're still having fun. Renting the golf card was a smart idea. I'm sure you had a much better day because of it. Niagara Falls next huh. I've never been there, but hear it is beautiful and pictures you see don't do it justice. Have a wonder and safe trip (no more RV problems). God bless. Tell Joe hi for us.

We have a sister-in-law that lives in Port Clinton. We have visited there many times and have gone to Put-In-Bay. As a matter of fact, Ron's brother (now deceased) and sister-in-law use to have a houseboat there. Great place, but really cold winters.
