Preparing for my journey

From August 16, 2015 through October 17, 2015, I have the blessing and privilege to travel to Turkey, Greece, Jordan, Israel and Palestine with fellow students and seminarians from Catholic Theological Union in Chicago. I invite you to travel with me via this blog; I will be carrying you with me throughout this sacred pilgrimage. My intention is to share pictures, related Scripture, personal reflection, and prayer along this journey. Please feel free to share comments, questions, and prayers as we embark on this journey together.

Gosh...it's hard to believe you are leaving next Sunday! There is so much to take in and experience. No words can describe walking in Jesus' footsteps and being physically present in the places he taught, suffered and died only to rise again. Thank you for inviting us along with you on this journey. I look forward to taking it with you. Maybe there is a little something I can do each day to commemorate your trip such as doing a little walk in each morning. I'm just curious what kind of stuff you plan to take with you. I imagine you have a lot of transfers to do and will want everything to fit in one backpack. As a solo backpacker with lots of experience traveling the world, I'm very curious about what you'll be taking with you.

Pat, Glad you are enjoying. Today, I had the chance to visit the Ruins of a Norbertine Church just outside the city of Jerusalem. They were only here from 1157-1187 or so; I will blog more about it later...
