Today found us heading north to Jasper and take in the sights along the way. Traffic wasn't too bad for a
Saturday and we cruised right along seeing all the spectacular scenery we saw the day before. We stopped
at the Columbia Icefields and hiked up to the glacier. Very cool to be right on the toe of this massive glacier.
The winds were blowing down the mountains and across the glacier and was very chilly. Onward we went from there
and next stop was at the Athabasca Falls. The water for the Athabasca river comes from the glacier we went to
and also flows right past our cabin. Very cool! We arrived at our cabin around 4 or so and settled in. Had a
nice dinner and then went out looking for wildlife. We drove around in some remote areas and didn't see any signs
of life except for the ocassional bird or passing car. We did see some more great scenery. We were about 1/2 mile
from our cabin when we spotted an elk grazing on the side of the road. It was pretty dark by then but we took
a photo anyway. Then we pulled into our cabin complex and there were about 20 elk grazing in the common area!
Go figure! It was late and we called it a day. One more day in Jasper and we hear there's a brewery in town
and we're going to persue that lead!

It's about time you picked up the brewery tour again. Looks like it's getting chillier; the jackets are coming out. Love the toe of the glacier. Did you know over 70% of the earths fresh water supply comes from glaciers? Fun fact I picked up on trivia crack :) XOXO P.
