La Cumbra and me. The road is in the back ground. this section was so much fun and involved overtaking trucks and buses on corners at ridiculous speeds.

Why they fall off the edge

This is a great shot and shows why so many trucks and buses go over the edge. This is only the medium sized bus that travels this road and is the biggest thing I would travel in back to La Paz. Lucky for us we scored a van going back up.

Just one of many trucks we overtook coming back up the "Death Road". There was only 11 of us in the van for this trip so it was luxury in Bolivian standards.

Hi Ryan, That was some ride. Its amasing there arn't more casualties if you ask me!! Those roads reminded me of PNG. I only went in a PMV once and the 'road" we travelled was more akin to a riverbed with its craters and slips. Hope your ankle is back to normal soon. You are so right about perservering and just keeping on trying. Some of those people a sheer saints.Take care
